Just bought two betls AC and PS...

..the AC is Japanese and the PS is not. Have any of you seen the PS belt made in Japan? I'm about to replace both, and I'd want to know if I can exchange the PS belt for one made in Japan.

I don't know for certain that there is a Japanese belt for the PS, but I would think there is. You just have to find a parts store that sells a Japanese brand. Maybe the dealership.

I'm curious as to why you want a Japanese belt.

Federal law says that cars assembled in the United states have to have a certain percentage of the parts be American, about 40 percent I think.

My alternator belt is made by Gates.

Well, for the same reason that we're at the maxORG and not the chevyORG. But, mostly it's because I don't want to look at that area of the car again for a while.

I don't know for certain whether one is better than the other, but...
