I have a '96 Maxima SE with 100,000 miles on it. The ride has softened over time and body roll has become extremely noticable compared with the ride of my BMW Z3. I don't want to race my Max or anything but I do want it to corner with more confidence. Any suggestions?

Get the FSTB, RSTB, and RSB if you haven't already. I'm planning to get these in the near future. I just don't have the money right now. With my 18" rims, and Nitto tires, it does helps a little, but I'm still not confident enough to take a corner really fast.

If you want your car to corner better than I would suggest that you pick up some lowering springs which will improve the handling profoundly. A FSTB will also help stop the flexing of the car from the front. You can pick up these two products for pretty cheap, considering what they will provide for you, as a driver/owner.

cheers

Nothing rides like a new car. I'm always amazed at how new cars handle. Best way to sharpen up the suspension is to get new shocks and a rear sway bar. Performance springs would also help greatly. But after 100k, the stock supension bushings just aren't gonna feel like new though and it's very hard to replace ALL of them.

Thanks dude,
Since I live in Toronto, I bought the seat from a shop up here and both of the boots I had custom made since no one likes to make pre-fabricated boots for our cars. lol

If you want names and numbers, let me know.

I have a '96 also. This is what I did and I enjoy the ride. A bit hard at times but I still like it. Here are my mods. Eibach lowering springs, tokico shocks and struts, Stillen FSTB, and RSB, 17x8 Momo Arrows covered in 235x45x17 Yokohoma AVS intermediates.

Hope that helps. -- Randy

I did H&R/Tokico before I got my rims, and it actually improved both the ride AND the handling over my worn stock stuff. FSTB should be the first move though. I can't believe I waited, it mad such a big difference.

Sparco, it's a sparco sprint and I got it from JRP. Johnston Research and Performance. They have them in the states so the name might help you if you want one. They carry some excellent products and they are reasonably priced.

take care
