New Member - third 4th gen

Hello all
Just bought my third 4th gen. When I was 18 (9 years ago) I went to stealership and bought a 97 SE White/Black leather with 45K miles. I was instantly in love and cherised that car for a long long time. Shortly after buying it I put 01 17" wheels on it. That was in 2001 and I swear I was the first to put newer gen wheels on the older gens, lol, not really, but seriously back then you never saw them like that. Also put eibach pro kit and koni yellows on her. Was a gorgeous car, will post pics of that beaut when i get home later. Then in 2002, when my then girlfriend (wife now) needed a new car, I couldnt bring myself to spend a single dollar on anything but a max. So I bought her a 97 GLE Wine/Black Leather. Immediately threw some 18" Murano wheels on that one.

Anyway, almost two years ago a 72 year old lady stole my baby from me by crossing double yellow and totalling her with 207K miles on her and still running super strong and smooth. Of course insurance didnt give me anywhere near what she was worth to me. Took the ins money and bought a grand cherokee for the wife and I started driving the wine 97 and have missed my gorgeous white max (BEST COLOR THEY MAKE).....
sooo, browsing craigslist couple weeks ago and came across a very, very clean 99 SE white/black leather. had to pull the trigger. went to look at it, and damn is it clean. Has 180K miles, true 2 owner Georgia car, great paint and insanely mint interior. Has the factory floor mats and everything...
Well here she is 5 min after buying her and the second one is the same night after I took her home and took off the pinstripe and gave her a few goodies taken off the now for sale wine 97... sorry for the crap cell phone pics, will post better ones once i get home..

thanks! Just planning on making her similar to my old one. some koni yellows with eibachs. Did the pro kit before, might do the sportline this time to drop her a lil more. Anyone got input on that decision? Gonna throw some tint on her, prolly like 15-20%. Shave the trunk emblems, sunroof deflector (where do i get that, it came on my first white max), and throw my single 10" sub back in the trunk and prolly call it a day

I love the 4th Gen. Max too! I just bought my 2nd 98' Black max! (I have to say Black is the best color they make) white is nice too though....

The first one was destroyed by my ex-wife while I was deployed in Iraq. She decided to put a new battery in it; however, she connected the positive to the negative. The electrical system was fried and after throwing a few thousand dollars at the problem, it was just never the same.

I purchased my new dream car on September 2, 2009 for $4,400. It previously had only one owner with 131,000 miles. The car was in immaculate condition! It was never smoked in, garage kept, barely any wear on the leather, the original floor mats looked brand new (except front driver side), and the back doors still had the new car stiffness!

The Max is loaded! She came with black leather, dual electric seats, heated seats, sunroof, fog lights, electronic climate control W/ AMB button, Bose surround sound audio system, alloy wheels, and even the gold emblem trim! Basically, every option that was offered in 1998, the previous owner ordered.

I envy.....I have ALWAYS wanted a white 4th gen, but they're impossible to find here in Toronto....5-spd ones anyway.

Congrats on the purchase. I got my gf a 97SE to drive around in to....same colour as the one you bought for yours.
