Climate Control Bulbs Missing!?

I've had my car for a while and finally got decently into the "fix" list (along with the "fix up" list) and a major pet peeve of mine is the fact that my automatic climate control doesn't light up. So I took it out to check the bulbs, and, OH, there's the problem!, there's no bulbs! I happened to find one from my last max and went to Autozone&Advanced&RadioShack to try and find some to buy but with no luck. Nobody even knew where to look.

So where can I get the bulbs & and the little holders for the climate control?? Or does anyone have an old broken climate control they can salvage for me? please?

Oh, and I do NOT want to do LED replacement. I did that on the last max and didn't like it.

I included a pic of the bulb spots I'm talkin about.

Thanks guys!

Your missing the actual bulb holders too. Once you get the holders, Radio Shack does have the correct bulb. You just need a soldering iron to install them.

Check for a part out in the FS section on here, I'm sure somebody can get their hands on them for you.

Those dont hold 194 bulbs. The bulb is part of the holder.

The dealership caries them. I replaced mine a while back...and paid deadler pricing, but got my lights working again.

Diamond,
I did every single possible bulb in the Max into the LED mod. The window switches looked great, no doubt. The random switches looked decent (cruise control, dimmer, shifter, etc). But I def didn't like the climate control or the gauge cluster. Swapped the gauge cluster back immediately, and was stuck with the CC cuz I threw away the bulbs. LED is directional light, those lil halogens aren't. In other words, factory is more even of a glow, more distributed light, not spotty or blotched. Yes, there are ways to make the LEDs less directional (sanding the tip, different angles, diffusers, and so forth) but I find that the light output simply doesn't compete. Just my opinion though.

njmax,
I still have one holder. Which is what I took to radioshack and they were clueless as to the bulb and had nothing in inventory that would fit. Shouldn't there be a place to buy those holders anyways? They seem like standard surface mount bulb holders for circuit boards.

dealership, eh? mmmmkkkkaaaaay. I am willing to spend a few bucks, but if I'm droppin over 10 or 20 bucks for some tiny @ss lil bulbs and holders, I'm gonna be a lil peeved. Do you happen to know the 'technical name' for these things? Like, what to ask for? "climate control bulbs?

LOL. Yeah just ask for the climate control bulbs. I think I paid around $20 for all 4 of them. You may check on ebay.

Oh and make sure the bulbs are for the right style climate control. I'm assuming you have the round UP/DOWN temperature buttons like mine. The bulbs are different from the ones in the newer auto climate controls.

I'm surpised you can't find the bulbs at R.S. that's where I got mine. They came in packs of 4 or 5 for just a few bucks. Just a 12volt mini lamb.
Another thing your missing is the blue covers that go over them. The bulbs at R.S. are clear, I just took the blue covers off my old bulbs and put then over the new ones.

Again, see if anybody in the FS section on here has a Climate control unit for you or has something with a few bulbs/holders that they can part out for you.

I recently just replace a bunch in my Maxima and I30t. I paid dealer pricing ($16 for 2 ) for the remaining 2 bulbs (with holders) because I cleared out the inventory at Radioshack.

The ones from Radioshack are called micro lamps by Nexxtech. Brand doesn't matter make sure they are 12v 60mA, part # is 7219. The only issue are that these replacement bulbs are slightly smaller than the originals so if you plan on using the OEM blue bulb condoms it won't stay on unless you glue them down, or replace them with smaller ones.

Well assuming I get the bulbs from RadioShack (I guess I could try another one?), that doesn't address the missing holders or the blue condoms, right? Those aren't items at RS...?

The only reason I'm not cruising the FS forums yet is cuz I can't imagine why someone would want to sell the bulbs&holders and not the whole unit.

The auto climate control for the maxima is the same as the i30, as far as the bulbs go though, right? Cuz I have a nissan dealership very closeby that does not sell any infiniti parts... yea, weird, I know, but they wouldn't order anything for me that had infiniti association.

They are interchangeable.

Here's the dealer part # for the complete item, bulb, condom and holder: 27545-1W600.

Yes they're the same. But again just make sure they're for the same type of climate control, with the round UP/DOWN temp buttons.

score! thanks a lot Bonka. I was gonna post the part number when I actually got it sorted out. Called the dealership and got part# 28529-0K000, but I think I misheard the guy on the phone cuz that part# doesn't bring anything up whereas yours did. Not sure yet if I'mma buy it online or local cuz I gotta make sure they'll fit. I'll post the result in this thread for other's reference though... that is, if anyone is odd like me and has this sorta problem...?

I replaced mine (96 Max) with Nissan # 28529-0P000 and yes, they're stupid expensive. About $9 each (Canadian) which includes the bulb, base and blue condom.

P!!! OOOOOH PEEEEEEE!!!

lol, yea, sorry, um, so the guy over the phone obviously said "P" but I thought he said "key" like... K... cuz he gave me another part number with a Y in it and said "yankee" to describe that so ... oh man, that was totally screwin with my head.

really dude, thanks for resolving that. maaaan I couldn't figure out why he said key... Now I wonder why he said yankee instead of just Y... P sounds like other letters (T, C, D!) , Y just sounds like... uuuh.. Y...

Nice, when I got my car, every bulb was burned out. I went the LED route myself and got it all working. Good luck with the install.

Part#28529-0P000 $6.13ea
Part#27545-1W600 $5.64ea

Both were out of stock, so no visual comparison or any information were available. For both, the item description was "bulb"... great inventory control Nissan. ::sigh::

Placing my order tomorrow for four new ones. Reeeeeeeediculous.
