questions on INTERIOR REPLACEMENT

i am currently going to embark on a journey. i will be replacing my tan cloth interior with a black leather interior. i am in contact with the junkyard and would like to know how much i should spend on ALL of the interior stuff. he quoted me a price of $600. whadya think? also what you think i could get for a tan cloth interior, excellent condition. i might sell them to the junkyeard so i could get a discount. unless someone on here wants it??

if its just for seats $600 is kinda too high, but if it includes whole package such as door panels, inserts, seats and dashboard, seat belts and so on in other words 100% complete interior then it could be a good deal.

Nobody buys cloth seats especially tan ones.

you could sell them say $50-75 thats what they were recently sold on ebay.

why dont you sell your interior to NYCE maxima??? he is looking for dashboard and will give you good price, plus you can sell your seats on board if they are power, so ppl with manual seats can upgrade!

Do not sell junk yard your interior, they rip off on trades. try to bargain all of it for 450-500, if not then grab all of it for 600

This brings up another question:

Can you buy a power passenger seat from a GLE and straight plug it into the non-powered GXE passenger seat and get it to work, or do you have to do some wiring?

(Are the harnesses already there?)

$600 is a great price. I paid $900 for mine. A little high, but I really wanted it and was prepared to pay. Any questions feel free to ask.

Hey cooler last time I looked eBay had a couple. And Drivindamax just for a heads up I was quoted $400 for JUST the seats and panels is good condition (not excellent) in black. $600 seems good if he's including the dash - that's a really expensive, extensive piece.

If you mean swapping the tan factory interior for the black factory interior, then yes. I did it July 12-13, 2001. What all is included for the $600?

A couple of general questions,
Is the power seat a lot better than the manual seat?
Are all the Tan interiors the same? (if I replaced just the driver seat would it match?)
How much would shipping on a drivers seat be? (roughly)

And for DrivinDaMax98
Are the seats Heated? (I know it's a longshot)
What year Max are they out of? (your profile says 95, but your screen name is 98)
Assuming shipping is not outrages would you be willing to ship?

well, yesterday i went up there for the third time and this time he decided that the dashboard and a few trim pieces were not going to be included. so i was like, wtf?? he said a couple hundred more bucks for those, and it didnt have a sunroof either and i would have needed those pieces. so i just decided to forget it. sucks but ill get over it...

hi
Yes, I will "probably" be interested in your dashboard providing it is in good condition, (no rips, stains or cracks) Mine is F-ed up, I had 2 rips, patched them up, mismatched the colors, took it off, stained it... now it's smooth, but looks like shiet....

600$ for a FULL interior??????? If you don't do it.... buy it for me, and I'll send you the $

I checked a good # of junkyards in NYC and did not find 1 4th gen maxima, let alone a black interior.

Did this 600$ quote include the headliner, all panels, carpets, switches, rear deck, vents etc?????? There is a lot of **** involved in it. I would mess with it if I can find a donor car, meanwhile I will get black leather anyways, then black carpets then maybe a black dashboard, if you sell me yours, i will take my old one and paint it.

A few words from an expert..

Hello guys. As many of you know, I have done this conversion to my car. There are good and bad things about it. Good thing is that you will enjoy your new black interior and it will be easier to keep it clean. The bad part is that you will need to invest a lot of time and money to do this. You can go to my homepage (page 9) and read my write-up about it. I bought an entire black leather interior from a junkyard and swapped it out. I literally reupholstered the headliner and pillars and painted my dashboard and steering wheel. Everything else was replaced. The entire interior and all the paint and supllies I had to buy cost me close to $800. This included virtually all the parts except headliner, dashboard and the glovebox. I then sold everything I had from my old interior and did really well . I'm not going to say how much I got for all the parts that I sold, but it all worked out pretty good for me. I sold most parts to different people on .org and ebay. I got $250 for all seats and 4 door panels. I still have parts left to sell till this day. To sum it all up: it's definately doable but it's very hard work and you need to be very patient and careful.

Anton
