diffrence between auto and manual. my version

hey guys. so i was bored out of my mind, and went to ice house. that a little camping place between tahoe and sacramento. i go there a lot in the summer and decided to check it out again, and remind myself of the course before i took my Z32 there. that road is epic, awsome turns, high speed and slow speeds.

last year, i took my 95 maxima SE 5 speed with 104k. that car felt good on those roads. i loved it because it let me stay in the right rev range, and the throttle response was really good. i had a exedy clutch and a fidanza flywheel.

this time i took my 97 maxima with 150k and a auto tranny. and its rather diffrent. i still had fun, but it really sucked going up and down through gears. then i stuck it in "2" the car was a little better, but still not the same. the torque converter keeps slipping sometimes. maybe its just my car.

also i dicovered that my auto gets around 18 mpg, and my 5 speed used to get 23 mpg. 5 speed win all around.

anyways, the point of this thread, is that im really happy i finally went to ice house, and i suggest people to find a nicy twisty road by them and enjoy.

cant wait till i take my zx up there. will be a diffrent story.

what im taking when the road dries up

these should help as well. but im still prefer stock looking seats.

My auto is messed up and I'm getting 18mpg. I just got a cel p0744 for the solenoids so we will see if that fixes it. There is no way you can compare an automatic to a manual in that type of driving. 5spd wins.
