Just curious, is the car now a salvage title?

um, currently it isn't, but if i were to decide to keep it and they give me so much for repairs, it would then be a salvage title, yes.

Well that muddied the water. Is the car not yours? Why would the title be different whether or not you keep it?

Usually it is only totaled if an insurance company pays it off

great job, i wish i could do wonders like that. now when people say 'hmm, you did the 97-99 frontend conversion" you can say 'nope, its a 95-96 rear conversion" lol...

Nevermind, talked to some people today and they can't give it a salvage title if it's older then 10 years old, they consider it "reconstructed"...

But update: I'm keeping the car and fixing it up again... insurance company tried to screw me since I bought it from an auction, wanted to give me almost nothing to total it, so I'm taking the money for repairs and re-fixing the entire front end... I'll post pics when it's done!

i wish i had someone who could teach me, lol i actually bought the "how to paint a car" video online for 10$ paypal lol

Im curious, how many total hours did you spend sanding, prepping, painting the whole car?

To be honest I really don't know the exact numbers... but I spent 2 weeks every night after I got out of work to work on the car, so yeah. That's not including the day I spent when I first got it stripping it down and taking a good look at it to see what I had to work with.
