Wrong Diff bearins from GT transmissions

I recently received two of the wrong sized bearings in my rebuild kit for a open diff 5 speed. I received Koyo 57407-N with dimensions 70x40x20. The bearing I removed is NTN ET-CR-0834ST with dimensions 70x42x19. As you can see the bearing is too tall and the inside diameter is too small.

Has anyone ever had a problem with GT Transmissions before?

I think I vaguely remember someone else having this issue as well. Just something that I think I read about. No idea what the resolution was.

We'll see what happens. It's not like can return the kit, I already installed the other bearings. Hopefully I can send the wrong ones to them and they will send me the right ones. That seems reasonable since they told me this kit would work with my transmission, and they made an error.

Dave, if you're out there, do you have any input?

Just spoke with George at GT and he seems more than happy to help me out. He took the bearing numbers down and is going to give me a call back. Seems like a reasonable guy. We'll see how it plays out.

Talk about problem resolution. He just returned my call, realizing the problem was on his end and he is going to ship me two of the correct bearing.

Bottom line, sh*t happens. What matters is how you handle the situation, and so far, GT is doing everything right.

Three days later, I get the correct bearings in the mail. I just installed them on the diff and now its time for some shimming.

Sometimes I tease myself and imagine what a clutch pedal will feel like. My left foot is so lonely, but not for long.
