My tranny has some wired play help.

I had some tranny issues and the car was having problems reversing. I just pulled some codes and the codes are a p0745=pressure line shift solenoid line valve A. I also have a revolution sensor thats gone bad and a p0744 torque converter solenoid. The FSM is saying that I will have to drop the valvebody and get it checked out and get it rebuilt if neccessary or get a new one. I don't have any reverse or any creeping backwards, but heres the trick, If i can pull out the DR connector solenoid that's on the back of the strut tower. The car can creep backwards and I have some pressure and the car does creep backwards on it's own with or without me giving it's gas on reverse, when it's in reverse and I can give it gas and it moves backwards. I can hear and feel a hard clunk when I select it in reverse. The reverse only works on the flat surface. I know theres some valvebody problems because the car makes this shimming eirrrring noise. I don't think my reverse or high my clutches are worn or burned out even though the fluid is still raspberry red and it smells like something was burned up. The fluid was light fresh pink to dark raspberry red with a light brown tint to the color. The question here is If the gears are all working and the reverse has some creeping backwards, but pressure is not there because of the valvebody issues and some sensors. The question here is Does the reverse clutch or the high clutch help the car go in Reverse and to push it backwards and if it does go backwards does this means that I will still need a rebuilt.?

What would be a good choice, a remanufactured tranny or a rebuilt. I would like to know what would be a best bet and which one of these trannies will last longer.

A remanufactured trans is a rebuilt trans. You can get yours rebuilt. Buying a used one will be the cheapest just make sure the one you get works.

I was calling the dealership today, hoping they still have the 58k tranny for $600 preety cheap and trustable, but it was not avaliable and I think that oppertunity just jumped out the window because, they said they don't carry it anymore. I asked for the pricing on the new tranny and the new tranny is for $3,600.00 that's allot of money. I called for a reman and the price for that trans was $1,622.00. I looked at the website ypu have liked to me and I found some reasonable trannies but they had reasonable or really high mileage trannies. I am still looking at the site and I will call the dealership to find out If the have anything recently.

yo man, you've been a member as long as me and you dont know about tranny swaps by now???? you DON'T want a rebuild. a good low mileage trans is your best bet. i got a 70,000 mile trans for 700.00 2 years ago and had it put in for 500.00 and i got a warranty for 3 months with it. that was a little high but i trusted the guy who sold it to me and the trans shop was quick and efficent. don't rush into it, look around, there's good tranny's if your patient.

I have made some phone calls and I have been surfing the internet for some reman and some good low mileage trannies in the junkyard. I am finding high mileage trannies in the junkyard or some beatup trannies. I am still looking for a decent low mileage tranny from the junkyard. I am leaning towards a reman or a new one for now. I am planning on doing this swap myself, I am looking for a challange. I have been down for 3+ months without my car,so I am looking for some .org member or someone to help me in finding a place where I can get my hands on her( a shop or a lift.) I am out of a job and broke, because this stinking economy is slow in rebuilding.
Thanks everyone.
