I remember reading about this and the consensus was that the 5th gen skirts are longer than the 4th gen by about 3-4 inches.... iirc.
could be less but probably lost of custom work for not much benefit.

Yes I know I am bumping a really old thread and probably will get flamed for it. BUT, I wanted to update this thread with some pics of my 4th gen with 5th gen side skirts.

I also put the accord front lip to see how it would look. It needs some trimming on the bottom of the sides, and paint, but overall I like it. I got side skirts and a front lip for a total of $40 plus paint. Not a bad deal in my book.

I got the side skirts to cover the rusty rockers. I ground them down and por15 the rest. Since most of the weight is held on by the font and back wheel well, I only used a couple screws each into the rockers.

If there is interest I can go into detail on how to modify them. It's not that bad, my 5th gen seat swap took way longer than these.

Side skirt write up

Ok, here we go,
I didn't take pics along the way, because I wasn't sure if they would turn out, or just look like crap.

Go to the junkyard and grab a set of 5th gen side skirts. Make sure to grab the two plastic side pieces on either wheel well.
They are a few inches too long. They will have to be cut to fit, the great part however, is that for almost the entire length of the skirt, it is flat, making it easy to cut some out, and have it line up. I do not know how much I took out, my guess would be around 3" or so. Hold the skirt up to the car, make a line where the fender ends. Measure the remaining, that's how much has to go (in the middle of course, don't just lop the end off)

Pick out a place where you want to cut, depending how **** you are about seams, you will have to bondo or fiberglass the seam. If you don't mind a small seam, line it up with the door or fender. The cut has to be perfectly straight, I used a drop saw, even with a wood blade, it cut through cleanly (go slow). I did some bondo work on the drivers side, I just left the passenger side, there is not much difference. IMO the bondo is a waste of time, just line it up with a seam and call it done. The seam on mine is just forward on the front door/fender line. I did it there because it didn't get rid of any of the support tabs on the bottom, and my rockers were rusted out in the back. I wanted to cut it in a place where I could support it. After I got it on, I realized there was plenty of support.

Next part is joining the two together. There is no one way to do it, I JB welded two metal pieces on the inside and screwed a small metal braket on the bottom.

Now that they are the correct length, mock them up on the car and take a look at the front and back by the doors. The 5th gen skirts curve up and block the doors, time to dig out the dremel. I would recommend against cutting the entire top part off, as it supports the board. The top also curves in, if it were to be just cut off, there would be a big gap between the skirt and the fender. Be prepared, there will be a small gap on top in the front and back that yo can either fill in or leave. Also trim down the little fins on the back of the tall parts, they just push the skirt out away from the fender.

Now that you have little bits of melted plastic all over your garage floor, prep and paint to suit.

Install My car does not have mud flaps, I do not know how it would work with them. One of the bolts for the mud flap on the front, lines up with the hole in the skirt. I made another hole and two in the back and screwed into the wheel well. For the bottom, use as many of the tags as you like to firm up the sides. The great part about these skirts, is they fit over the top of the rocker panels under the doors, so they hold themselves up to a point. It can also cover a lot of rust. I used two screws under on each one. They are not going anywhere.

For the two gaps on either end, do with them what you want, I sealed up the back one with bondo and painted it. The front gap is smaller and the rockers are right below is, so it is not so much of a hole, just a small dip to the rocker. If you know you will be filling the holes in, wait to paint until the bondo is done too.

I really like the way they turned out, plus 5th gen skirts are cheap and all over the place, so I can better justify taking some time to make them fit. Total time spent 5 hours not including paint and drying time.

95 accord I think. I read on here 94-96 will fit. It fit amazing well, I had to trim a little off the top in the middle between the fog lights. There is plastic that go up in the gap between the fogs, doesn't look like it in the picture. The corners have the be bent around some, but the size is dead on, no trimming required at the ends. I tried to use the rear lip off the accord, but I found the distance between the rear wheels and the back of the Max to be quite long in comparison with wither sedans. They were bout 6 inches too short. I spent some time looking through the junkyard for a different car with a long enough rear lip to no avail. Spring is slowly coming, time to re-start my search.

I hear ya, I've got a trans sitting my garage waiting to go in. New exhaust to. Shot Input bearing and the muffler is just pain rusted through. I'll be doing the exhaust in a couple weeks, hoping the trans will make it to fall, then I can afford a new clutch while I'm in there.

FYI the lip needed some reforming to fit. Accord's lip is wider and shorter than our bumpers. The stock ones is flimsy enough to re-bend where the corner is, and straighten out part of the original corner. If you look close, the bottom flat part of the side under the fender is bulging out from some. I have to trim that part off.

Can you put up pics as to how you mounted them? I was just at the junkyard this past weekend looking for skirts that may fit to cover up my rusted sides as well lol.

I picked up the lip from my local junkyard. Both side skirts and the front lip were $40. It's real easy to pull, just some bolts/screws under the bumper.

I don't have pics yet,I can get some in a day or so. Two screws on the front and back wheel well. One on the front lined up where the mudflap bolt goes in, the other three I had to drill. Then two under each one to the rockers. I had enough rocker left to drill into. If your are completely gone, I would make a bracket to run it to the bottom. I was looking at doing that if I needed to.

To get them off the 5th gen, remove the bolts on either wheel well, and all the bolts on the bottom. There are a lot, I think 6 or 7 on the bottom of each one. Hope this helps

Three posts with the same question? Nice going.

I like the front lip, but not a fan of the side skirts. I guess better than the rust underneath.

95 I think, 94 is the same as 95, they did a mid 90's body style change, you want the one before the change
