17" Rims?
So I'm looking at these 5 spoke 17" rims for my maxima. i really had my heart set on 18"s but the 17"s i found are all i can afford at the moment and they are a pretty good price (used - about $315 with shipping) they have a few scratches on them but nothing serious. so my question is: how do 17" rims look on a max? should i hold out and spend an extra $300 for that one inch? or do you think i should just settle with the 17"s? i just would really hate to buy rims and then they dont look nice on the car. the car isnt in the greatest shape so it wouldnt be the end of the world if it didnt look amazing but i just dont want it to look like its lacking...let me know your thoughts and if you have pics please post! thanks

if you lower the car they will look fine, plus the tires are cheaper. my 18's fill up the wheel well, but i still need to drop it to get rid of some gap-almost 3" f+R

I had the 18" g35cs and the 17" maxima rims from a 2001. The 17s imo have a better ride. Dropped with 17s imo will be ideal for a everyday driver maxima. 18s hit to hard, but look perfect. They fill up the wheel spaces nice.

Go for the 17's. As said before, a little cheaper tires and as long as you lower the car, it will look good.
But, be sure you get a good rim width and offset. So like 17x8 and 35 offset sits pretty well with 235/45 tires. That's what I've got.

heres the description:
a set of 4 alloy After Market wheels removed from a 2003 Mercury Mountaineer. The 17x7.5 alloy wheels have a 5 spoke design and a 5 lug 114mm bolt pattern. One of the wheels has some scratches on it as you can see in the picture. The other wheels may have some light scratches that you don't see in the pictures. This set of wheels will be covered by our warranty as stated and make a great replacement for your current set.
would that fit nicely with my max?

Well, they look okay; but are you in the market for show or go? If your just looking for some show sure they look just fine, but if your wanting some go... There's a good 00VI online here for around 300..

as stated before 17's will give a better ride quality, still look great and actually will handle better. Sidewall flex is an important part of handling, while a lower profile tire looks great it has less sidewall flex which means more force being pushed directly to the tire's contact patch. Basically it will break loose sooner with less sidewall. That being based on 2 tires of the same grip, same tread width, etc. and the only difference being the profile. I say go with 17's, while 18's will look better, 17's will perform better, both for handling and ride quality. I guess depends which is more important to you.
