Anyone know where I can buy struts/springs pre-assembled?
Hey, guys. Havnt been on here in a long time. The maxi is getting up there in miles (165k). I need to replace some H&R springs and struts. Love my current ride height so I dont want to go stock. Anyone know of a place that sells spring/strut combos pre assembled? Trying to get H&Rs paired with KYBs.
Shoot me some links or some good prices. Also, need some drive axles. I checked the sponsors forum but its tricky to find somebody selling pre matched sets.

Why do you want to replace the springs? They don't ware out, per say.
You also do not need any special tools to install H&R springs on the struts. The lower stance spring does not need to be compressed much (body weight is enough) to get the strut assembled. The help of a friend makes is easy.
If you pair the H&R's with Tokico Illuminas, you'll get a much better ride then with the KYB's which are on the harsh side.

Hmm...why the hell did the mechanic say the rear springs where "broken"? It didnt make sense to me cause I always heard that springs you really should never have to replace. You just reinforced my suspicion. Dont you need a spring compressor on the fronts, at least? If not, thats great news cause Ill just pick up some struts/shocks and would love to save money on springs to put towards the drives axles. Imma go price out the tokicos now.

If you still wish to replace springs and struts as one unit after looking it over take a look at Monroe QuickStruts:

I've used these before and they're great. Turns struts into a hour or two job at most. The springs probably aren't really needed but by the time you buy new struts, mounts, and spring compressor you're probably up to the cost of a set of QuickStruts anyways.
Only problem with them is that the struts themselves are usually some form of Monroe Sensa-trac, which is softer and floppier than the much preferred Reflex line.

If you want pre-assembled shocks/springs, get the Monroe Quick strut. I wouldn't recommend it otherwise. Why do you want pre-assembled suspension though? You can borrow the tools from the local part store (with a deposit) and do it yourself. As long as you're careful and use common sense you'll be fine. You'll probably get a good ride out of using decent shocks/springs instead of the Monroe stuff.

Nope, just have a buddy put some pressure on the upper perch while you get the top nut started. Same for the rears, however it you go with the Tokicos, the shaft is slightly longer on the rears which makes the rear springs EZ as can be to do yourself.
