You should probably plan on removing the upper intake manifold so that you will be able to access the fasteners holding the manifold to the head. This is of course after you remove the heat shield covering the bolts, and the pesky 24mm nut on the EGR transfer tube. Or you could just leave the tube in place, and remove it from the EGR valve itself. Whichever is easier.
Oh yeah, the y-pipe will have to come off too. Not just the rear, but at both manifold connections. Makes it a lot easier to remove the manifold then.
