Check Engine Light possibly burnt out?

My check engine light was on so long that I'm afraid it burnt out. One day it just stopped showing up at ignition.

I've searched around the forum and the sticky for changing dash bulbs in no longer a valid link.

I've also seen some post refer to checking a fuse but I don't know which one this could be.

I also saw some posts saying this could be an even more serious problem. I currently just go to Autozone and have it checked but I'd really like to see ti again!

Any tips?

Dom

Are you it is burnt out? Cause if the codes ever resetted or if there was some type of error there is a good chance it will just come back. The only thing i can say is put ur car on in the ingnition start but dont start the car and see if it goes on or not. That is why all the lights turn on in the cluster to test of they work or not. Also the job is pretty easy to swap out. Pmoar has a cluster removal writeup and youtube link. GL

Yeah, its gone completely. Nothing during startup.

I will try searching Pmoar and see what I can find...

tried searching Pmoar, is that a user?

Is this even something a noobie should attempt or should I just deal with the burnt out light?

because everywhere I took it just said "it's some vacuum code and it probably isn't worth fixing cause it's gonna cost you tons of money to figure it out".

the car ran fine, the light didn't blink and I just lived with it.

thanks for the inspiration! i've been gradually tackling problems from the severe, as in huge exhaust leak and no power, to the medium, stalling at red lights... now its time to fix teh little bs issues now that i have a little confidence under my belt.

i have zero electrical experience, maybe its time i learned to use a tester? is it possible its just the valve and something i can just pop off and replace?
