Kind of pushed this problem aside but figured I need to fix it. My rear fender is beginning to rust near the tire well (as most 4th gens do). I was wondering if this is a do-it-yourself-job or a body shop job? I am not too experienced in sanding, painting, etc. so I am a noob at this. Would I be able to do this and if so, how would I go about doing this? Any how-to's would work!

He lowered price to $400 and the tires that come with them have 80% tread left. Good deal or no? Not sure on the specifics of the rim, I just know they will fit the max. They are 18's btw. Would these go good with a pearl white max?

 

Body work, take it to a shop. Rims, buy them!

Even if the seller was completely honest, it is pretty hard to tell how worn tires are. 80% may not be very accurate at all, I wouldn't bet on it. Also with wheels from non-nissan cars, you will have to also check the hub bore in addition to the bolt pattern. This looks like an aftermarket set so you'll likely need hubcentric rings. That said, $400 for a set with tires is probably as good a deal as you're gonna get. You might find $300, but I haven't.

 

I would say that a shop is probably the way to go with body work. I would say you should probably pass on those rims too. I'd stick with an OEM Nissan/Infiniti rim: they look great and fitment is also amazing.

 

^^ +1. Area needs to be sanded down and fiberglass applied to prevent further rusting.

 

Shop is the way to go, some things are best left to professionals

For the body work. I would say do as much as you can before you take it to the body shop. The more you can do the cheaper it will be at the shop.
