i have no tint right now but my buddy owns a tint shop and said he would tint my car for me for $80 with the best tint he had.

$80 is really cheap, so i was wondering what the best tint actually is so i can question him about it. and does the tint really make that much of a difference on the appeal of the car?

80 bucks, id go for it. Tint makes ALL the difference, it not only protects the interior from heat and sunlight when outside, but it makes your ride look that much nicer.

I pd $250ish for the back windows. I ♥ it. I went with the most expenisive 20%, comes with a REAL lifetime warranty against peeling and fading.

I think tint makes a car, I have (35% in the fron and 20% in back and I love how I can leave stuff in the backseat and not worry about thieves seeing into the car

yep you should get it... tx the legal is 25 for streets, 20 for inspections *dont ask*... price ranges are 75 for crap, unless you got a hook up, up to 200... my buddy did his, 20 all around with a life time warranty for 100... someone busted out his window to steal his system and they retinted his new window for free... thats where its worth it. if he will replace the tint for fade or discoloration its worth it!

go with the darkest. i got 5% all around on my car, really dark in the daytime, no one can see you from the outside, but it kinda sucks driving at night, you really gotta pay attention when driving if changing lanes. backing out sucks too. BUT IT LOOKS SO GOOD!!! it is illegal. i got a $300 ticket a few years back for it, but it really doesnt attract too much attention as youd think. i paid 150 for mine, but that was for taking all the old purple bubbling stuff off and putting new tint on

cheap tint tends to do it more, granted i cant tell the difference between cheap and expensive until something goes wrong. but its also in how they apply it... they have to do a really good job on the install to get all the bubbles out. thats where it all starts...

i been using tint from autozone for years and it NEVER bubbled up. I use the non adhesive kind.

5% is too dark man. At night time, u can barely see out of the rear window. And forget about using side view mirrors, u have to roll down the windows to see. 5% aint worth the extra hassle especially when 20% at night is pretty much as dark.

I had all tints at one point or another. 35% is the best. Dark enough for privacy but doesnt hamper driveability.

Cops in mass will give u a ticket for havin the fronts 20 or 5%. They a lil more lenient with 20% rears. But the all HATE 5%, u sure as hell gonna get a $300 ticket in MA for 5% fronts or rears, if they catch u. but thats MAss of course

First time poster here, tried to make a new thread but it wouldn't let me so I am just seeing if I can at least post up. Came here for some info about a coolant temp sensor, but yea thats for another thread. Maybe soon?? Anyways, on topic...

Tint is whats up though. It helps keep the car cool if it is hot out, and also gives you some privacy if you want to pick a booger or have your girlfriend give you come travel assistance.* wink wink* Helps keep the dash and interior butter.

Don't be a square dingo, tell em you want 5% all around, and 15% on the front windshield. DON'T get that half assed darkened strip on the front, and don't go past the "line" if you do. It is an easy signal to look for when citing illegal tints, if it goes down past that line on your mfg windshield. Harder to tell when the whole thing is mobbed out. It blends that way.

If you feelin like a buster when you see them rolling by tad the windows down a dose and allow some light in. Might as well turn the gorrilas in the trunk down too and aww hell trade the max in for a civic. Maximas are a players ride, mob that tint out player.

5% all around, 15% front windshield go hard

got a few $80 dollar citations, don't like them but it cost to floss. the max with no tint looked weak as ****, and I was sweating *****. if they don't understand and want to ticket that, **** THEM!

Legal limit here is 35% but the cops don't really bother you unless you get a officer who's having his period that day. IMO 35% is a waste of time unless you have dark interior. 5% is just straight up dangerous, you might as well not even have windows.

Lol @ Maxxin.

Dont worry bout the coolant sensor man, we get to that into that on another trhread. should be easy fix.

Now i agree that the maxi is a cool car obviously, but i gotta disagree 5% aint cool man. 5% is so dark my boy backed up into one of those industrial sized trash bins and broke his taillight one night. Funny shyt. Its jus too dark man. If u want dark, 20% does the job too AND u can still see out the rear.

I hear u about the ahhhh "oral stimulation factor" while driving too but at night 35% work fine for me. As long as i dont park under a street light all is good and wet lol

but of course it up to the OP how dark he wanna go. I still say go state legal to keep the boys in blue off ur back.

haha cashoit! I feel you bro. At night unless I know the area I am backing up, usually have to roll the window down and throw the head out to avoid those industrial trash bins.

Most rollers keep rolling by, only the newbie ****face asswipe douchebags have ever ****ed with me for tint. Mostly because if they do, you can probably slap the tint meter on their window and cha chin! Write their *** up too. You know the rollers rock that dark tint too, and they speed, and they blah blah. I ain't hatin on them, so long as they don't hate on me.

First they came for the tint, and nobody spoke up. Then they came for me, and nobody was left to speak up for me.

Got pulled over other times for "seat belt" or whompin a crazy 4mph over the limit yada yada, and any respectable officer doesn't give the tint a second look. And I'm sure it pops up on the puter, cuz I had one ask me why it was still on after having a few citations for it.

I list the advantages as above and said, something to the effect of "Prob. the same reason you have mob tint on your cruizer mr highway patrol man." He smiled and said peace out.

If it's your only ride i suggest going legal tint. Everyone needs a mobbed out betsy every day driver, and a clean sally for when you wanna duck and dive.

Thanks for the info about the coolant sensor, It was buggin me but I am feelin better now that I found these forums.

5% is too dark!! I had to roll down my window to turn left at night to keep from curbing my wheels. if you will look at the left side of this picture it is looking out the window during the day on a really bright day!

http://memimage.cardomain.com/member.../2220934_3.jpg

in my sig you will see the outside which looks great but you just cant see well enough at night. I'm having it retinted at 20% even though 35% is legal in TN

I love tinted windows, but had to give it up. I seem to get pulled over more often with tinted windows, and speeding + tinted windows = not fun tix. Yes. it's illegally darken in the front to match the rear windows. I didn't think they'll pull you over just for tint, BUT they will. Hell, I got a tix for a license plate cover - which was clear plastic.

I had 5% on my rear window for like a wk. I jus couldnt take it anymore lol. I use the removable tint so it was easy to remove.

Darkest i used to go is 20% but then i tried 35%. I jus like the 35%.

There was this one time cop pulled me over thinkin my tint was dark on a rainy day. He had the tint meter and im black rollin through a white neighborhood (wellsley) so he pulled me over. I wasnt even speeding lol. I told him they were legal but he kept giving me shyt. Dude was cool after he read my tint and it came back 35%. I do my mods but up here in mass they LOOK to give u tix, jus not worth it so i stay legal.

I just got 35% all around on my max cause that's the legal limit in GA. Unfortunately, it's not really dark enough for me since i really wanted it to keep people from seeing what's inside my car. Is there a way that they can make it darker? Or do they have to take it all off and start over again?
