Lagging maxima

Recently my 99 nissan maxima hasnt been driving so cool.
It kind of feels like im driving a honda, it lags to go through the gears and then when it gets to 2nd or 3rd it jumps roughly into them.
I gotta know whats up, cause its definitely a turn off help need asap!

codes? did u do a SEARCH? Have u tried any troubleshooting urself? Do u have FSM? Cali or fed spec? We need more info here.

With what u have stated and since its a 99, i wd check coils first and prolly KS. I wd also say check your drop resistor as well

i noticed in your mod's you have a wai...i'm assuming that means warm air intake.
this could be one of your problems.
with it being the summer time your engine is sucking in more hot air.

this happened to me when i removed the part where it sucks the air in from the front.
the air box was exposed to the engine heat and with the a/c on it's even worse.
once i put that piece back on, it's better even with the a/c on.

or either it's the knock sensor.
and it has been proven and said that it makes a difference.

knock sensor being bad will cause slugish feelin knock sensor will not always make the check engine light come on either get it checked even if light is not on

It could be alotta things. If your spark plug chamber gaskets are gone, oil can seep in to your spark plugs and cause this. As well as a knock sensor, broken coil packs, etc... you definitely need to at least try and pull some codes.

Im not going to read everyones posts so ill just cover a few bases.

1. Theres a link to the FSM in my sig.

2. Your issue could be a few things, but in order to find the said issue your going to need to give us the codes.

So ill say its most likely the knock sensor, if it is you could be getting no SES.

Or you could be getting a crazy amount of codes, for instance O2' sensor's, EGR related codes, or even EVAP.

So, pull the codes, post them here.

Also your tranny, check the fluid. If its anything But Cherry Red, replace it. Do Not let anyone power purge it, simply undo a trans cooler line, have someone tap the ignition and drain a **** load of fluid out of it, than replace it.

my 96 will take forever to shift to 2nd. and the rpms seem to jump around, i assume it was a transmission problem. I will try to replace it and change the filter as i just got it and have no idea when it was last done.

My 99' GXE seems to 'lag' around. I'll drive with constant petal pressure and it doesn't accellerate the way i expect it to.. sometimes it upshifts way too early, and i have to give it 3/4 throttle to get it to downshift again.

- I have an O2 code that comes and goes
- No mods what so ever
- 195k miles
- Normal oil changes/filter changes from Nissan dealership
