Yeah man, mine's on the way too, I just got the CM cause I trust that company and done business w/them. I know some of the ebay stuff is legit but I'd rather deal with someone I already know. Good for you my dizzle, fuuckk all the fuuuckin' haters!!!

so the ebay ones are exactly the same? thats great to know haha. i looked last night for the kensai one but it seems the seller is only selling honda and for focus catbacks for now. are the other generic ebay catbacks the same thing? im suprised to see some there for 75 dollars and such if its the same one.

I don't know that they're all exactly the same, but think of it this way: how many factories in china can make knockoff apexi n1s? how many of those factories make them with full knock off mandrel bent 304 SS catback piping? Maybe a few at best. Further, if there are manufacturing specs already out there, why would you go through the effort of reverse engineering a new catback? Just a few factories at most and they're all using the same design specs and they're all being imported by the same few guys who are wholesaling it to the various ebay sellers. I love capitalism.

Also, the $75 ones have $89 shipping charges so they still all come out to around $150-175

Yeah I got mine also, got mine from CM w/small dent in the tip of course. I was ****in' pissed, especially since it was in aspot you can see but I straightened it out. It look's the same as yours, I paid about twenty more than it would have cost on ebay, oh well. I also got a high flow cat and ordering a new front pipe/y-pipe. The front pipe has to go, it's shot/corroded bad by the cat of course. I was cutting the bolts that connect the y to the cat today to separate them and came to that conclusion. I started taking the nuts/studs off the y to the headers just to prepare for the new one when it comes in, the front bolts came off pretty easy and ran out of time so I put never cease on them and put back til later. Somebody said this muffler sounds good w/factory y-pipe, so for now I'm getting a new factory design. Everythings gonna be new from front pipe to muffler. I was thinking about doing this on my 3rd gen, any comments on that idea?? They don't offer any catbacks for the 3rd gens no more. I pretty sure the exhaust systems on 4th gens and 3rd gens are really close, the only part that is a little different on the catbacks is right before the sway bar but it should work right. Any suggestions on hooking this 4th gen catback would be appreciated. I'll probably wing it, I know the hanger before the muffler is in a different spot but I can cut w/my dremel and weld back in right spot and it should be good.

That was my plan but I gotta get a new y in there asap, so I'm just replacing that but installing high flow cat and CM catback to go with K&N intake.

You dont think that would give too much flow? I mean if you are N/A you want back pressure otherwise you'll lose some power.

you want as little back pressure as possible. The "back pressure is needed" idea is a myth. It is often confused with scavenging. Search the forum for "backpressure". http://forums.maxima.org/general-max...kpressure.html

The headers will still be factory but I'm just getting the stock y fpr now anyway, I will do some more research but from what I know/seen w/these engines I could install the high flow y-pipe and add HP/torque.

After ship/handling it's only 20 bucks more from Custom Maxima, that's worth it for my piece of mind instead of dealing w/someone I've never heard of but yeah it is cheaper.

I believe the CM catbacks have "Kensai" stamped on the muffler just like my eBay one, but I could be wrong. Someone else chime in.

calm down there buddy, he was me just commenting on the fact that an aftermarket y-pipe combined with these cat backs, which he considers fart cans, are very loud.

does it have anything to do with the 95/6 vs 97-9 exhaust differences?

you might need the center s pipe with the extra bung for an 02 sensor...

on my 98, there is a small O2 sensor extension pipe between the cat and the b pipe. I had to re-use this between the high flow cat I got and the CustomMaxima cat back. This link has a good picture of it. I don't recall if your 95 has this extension or not.

This is from the Custom Maxima website.

"***Most 1995-1996 models need to buy an extra sensor pipe (center pipe). Some 97-99 might need the pipe as well. The best way to find out is to look under your Max to make sure you have it or not."

I believe you can have a shop fabricate one, or maybe someone here knows if you can just pick up the right size at a shop.

I will double check, but I did not see any markings or logos on the system I got from CustomMaxima. That's not to say it they make it in house.

At the time (june 2010) there were not any cat-backs being sold on ebay for the price I got my high flow cat and cat-back from CustomMax shipped, it was weird.

I think this is my problem. I noticed that on the custom max site, but I bought it from a ebay retailer who claimed it was a direct bolt on.... apparently they lied, and i figured i didnt need the extra pipe b.c as my car sits now it doesnt have one.

If anyone gets the header+y-pipe can you tell if you get fitments problems ? my prob my be isolated but if was just enlarging the holes on the y-pipe that fixed it.

My bad, I thought the comment was some kinda punt at myself.
I'm looking for this Kesai logo, I haven't found it but maybe CM took it off somehow, yeah Ispent a little more dough, I ordered it before I knew there was another just like it on ebay. It'll be good for now and I like how it sounds, eventually I'm gonna opt for Stillen, wanna turbo first then maybe upgrade for better. The exhaust is the only thing left to do with this whip to get her running like new, she's got just over 120,000 on her and was kept well by original owner.

I thought the extra o2 sensor pipe was on 97-99s. My megan catback was short because it was made for 97-99s.
