Check your flex section. You might have a leak somewhere.

How old is that flex pipe? Shouldn't be leaking if it's only a few years old.

Quick fix idea... Drill a hole in the pipe to let the bee's out, after they leave seal it back with some ABC gum and VIOLA!

Seriously though, mine does the same thing and I am pretty sure it is coming from the flex pipe. I can't faintly hear it while under the car and a buddy revs it, not as loud as when there is a load on it though. (driving)

96 SE Manual with a little bit here and there...

Yeah it sure does look like one...OP I am assuming you bought you car like this? If you get a new y pipe, I am sure many people would be interested in buying yours in the shape its in (and getting a new flex put in). I know I sure as hell would be.

Not made anymore, so if you can get your hands on one, get it.

I paid 250$ for mine (used) 10 years ago.

My "hissing" sound comes mainly from the gasket on the rear header, I would make sure that gasket is fine before I'd go onto replacing the flex pipe.

i think the gasket may have failed (between test pipe and ypipe) i used one of those metallic cardboard gaskets. Not a metal one like the OEM.
