coolant in egr

coolant in egr

umm i have a question i have a 99 max gle i took the egr off to clean it bc i got a code saying it was clogged well when i was taking it off it had coolant that came out of it is this normal? The stupid code keeps coming back on after i cleaned it to i guess i need another one.

To answer your question simply, no, coolant in your EGR is not normal. I'm not even sure how it would get in there without burning, since the gas flow in EGR is exhaust->intake. How'd you do that?

You need to clean the egr tube that goes back to the intake manifold collector. The coolant is normal, don't worry.

Yes, but the 99 is the only 4th gen to have this type (coolant line) of EGR setup.
