Got into an ACCIDENT... Need help/parts/advice!!

I'm a little upset this morning... I was coming home from school last night and veered to miss a dear and landed deep into a ditch. Bad news for me and the Maxima. I took out the drivers side fog light, bent the $h!T out of the drivers side panel next to the marker light (to the point where the hood barely closes, completely tore up the front underpannel/bumper (same piece) and not to mention the whole front of the car is pushed to the right side. Im wondering if any of you guys have dont this to your maxima? THE QUESTION IS... HOW MUCH IS IT GOING TO COST TO FIX? any ideas? Should I go through the insurance company? Should I ask around for parts? (anyone got them??). Any advice will be appreciated!

Thanks

insurance company? depending on how much damage you have and if you want your car tottaled or not.. you go to the insurance company.. if your airbags deployed.. consider it tottaled by the insurance adjuster...

sometimes its more expensive to fix it yoruself.. but then again if you want to keep your car and not have it tottaled.. then you do it yourself.. which i should have done wth my 95 maxima.. and not gone through the insurance company

TOTALED!!! Never thought of that? I wouldn't think that it is no more than $2000 in damage? Right? Anyone know??? Nothing but the cosmetic stuff is damaged. No engine damage, or frame damage just the bumper/under faring, and the drivers side front panel. It is a 1997 Maxima, worth probably $12-13K.

you would be suprised at how expensive the parts the adjusters come up with and what they put down..

all i had was a busted raditor..and air bags

here are some of the things they came up with..

airbags
steering wheel
new dash board
new center console
new head lights (because they can't buy 1)
new gril
new bumper
new bumper supports
new radiator
new radiator supports
frame straighting
new pass door
new 1/4 panel
new hood
new hood supports

blah blah blah and the list went on..

Just replace what youve broke.

Check your radiator and stuff, internal parts, to make sure nothing is bent or broke. CHeck the actual meatl bumper behind the cover for bends.

It bothers me that you say the whole front end is moved over.
