received my WS y-pipe/magnaflow cat

I'm a guy who LOVES detailed detailed detailed writeups that 5th graders could understand. as well as MANY pictures to make the process as painless and easy as possible. The current writeup is perfect, descriptive and useful, but I want to make it as easy as possible, easier to understand, and many more pictures. I'm not installing it this weekend, and it might not be for another week or 2, but if its requested, I'd be more than happy to make a writeup[/IMG]
oh, and heres my baby, Maxi

That is not detailed at all. I expected close up pictures of the flanges, 02 sensor bung hole, gaskets mounting hardware, hangers, dimensions of the pipes, flanges, bolt holes, etc. Get to work...

Did you really have to start a new thread to tell everyone that you got the parts you ordered that you complained about in your other thread? I mean really? Really? (SNL ref)

I demand a full length install video, in HD nonetheless.

Really? You ***** and moan about how you can't get the parts fast enough, then state you won't be installing them for at least one, maybe two weeks.
InstaFAIL!!

IMO, we have enough writeups and pics on this, and this mod is pretty darn easy to boot. No one really complains that they can't figure out how to do the install, but how to get the rusted (if applicable) nuts loose.

Question: If you aren't installing it for a week or two WTF were you whining about, if you knew you weren't going to install right then

Relax guise. My guess this is his first big purchase online and he got cold feet waiting for it. ****, I remember first buying stuff for my car and spending 300$ online not knowing whether or not it was going to arrive.

Looking forward to it. He should cut those hedges back a bit though. It doesn't look like he uses his front door.

Hey dude,

got mine today after waiting similar time. Just a few questions: should there be any hangers on the pipe? Was yours painted with a silver paint, and is that paint coming off ?

Product looks nice (besides the wet paint) ! I am putting it on this Friday.

yess you should've received a new hanger. also yes, there is an aluminum-ish residue which comes off and also the copper colored anti-seize

Hanger in the bag or hanger welded to the pipe? I didn't have any hangers welded on my pipe. Im on a business trip so I haven't been able to examine it further until I get back.

Well its not like you need a write up...

Disconnect the o2 sensors at the top and drop them down, unbolt the 3 bolts per header. unbolt the y pipe from the cat (good luck!!!!, I used a oxyacetalene torch and melted the bastard off!), or in your case just disconnect the cat from the B pipe. Remove the hanger from the y pipe. Take the y pipe out, unscrew the o2 sensors with a box wrench (i think 22m). Put the high temp rtv on the y pipe gaskets (metal rings) and put them in the circular indentation, press them in tight. Put the o2 sensors into the new y pipe, I was careful not to get the antiseize on the o2 sensor itself, but just on the threads!!!! Then bolt back up. Reconnect the o2 sensors. You are done.

Now in my case, I had to have the flange rewelded on the cat which cost me $.

I'll condense this even further for you: step 1 remove stock y-pipe, step 2 install aftermarket y-pipe.

Done

Good for you, I'm sure your happy with what you got, WS y-pipe is good(they improved there design in the past year and it's available in T304 SS), the magna flow catbacks work great and last a long time if you get the right one. I have no experience with the megan catbacks but it's robably better than stock from what I heard. It's a good place to start with the exhaust, good luck with everything.
