Amsoil motor oil

Greetings all fellow Maxima owners! If anyone is looking for a really good quality synthetic motor oil Amsoil is the way to go. My 96se runs excellent, I used their 5w-30, 10w-30, and their 0w-30 (winter). Mobil one and others had issues with the ftc. Go to amsoil.com, become a preferred customer and buy at whole sale costs, their filters and tranny/gear oil fluids are of the highest quality as well. 155,750 96se (brought new with 10 miles on it). 4TH GEN=BEST! And for the RECORD I DO NOT WORK FOR AMSOIL. I "THOUROUGLY RESEARCHED" AND HAVE BEEN USING THEIR PRODUCTS FOR YEARS, WITH EXCELLENT RESULTS.

Great. But you can't really just blast Mobil 1 like that. If you claim Mobil one has FTC issues, you had better come up with a good link for us to read. Both Amsoil and Mobil are analysis proven by our members to perform well.

I don't understand why he is complaining about Mobil 1? I have used it for years with many other people. And personally it is the best you can buy on the shelf. Amsoil is not as easy to get your hands on anyways, so Mobil 1 is the best for me. Mobil 1 is the best store brand oil you can get your hands on personally. It is rated really well in tests than any other oil. Amsoil is rated better, but not by much.

I don't think he is bashing Mobil 1 perse. He states that Mobil *could* have problems becuase he mentions some lawsuit. From another thread Steve mentions a lawsuit involving unusual wear from Mobil's AVIATION oils. Not automotive oils.

Both are fine oils. And since we have seen both oils tested by .org members, I still hold that opinion. The lawsuit is interesting but so far it invloves non-automotive oils so...

I've heard that Amsoil is actually 100% synthetic where Mobil 1 has a mineral oil base.
I still use Mobil 1 for 2 reasons.
1) Amsoil doesn't have that certain Vehicle approved manufacturers standard logo(I don't remember the technical name for it).API Americam Petroleum Institute seal?
2)Mobil 1 is available at more stores versus dealing with Amsoil distributors.

I've never had problems finding Amsoil products.. maybe I'm just lucky or look in the right spots (before I became an Amsoil distributor)

Well that has nothing to do with Mobil 1 auto oil. So until you have firm proof on that, stop your complaining.

Russ, your ability to repeat information that's just 3-4 posts above yours is uncanny. Damn, stop trying to instigate an arguement will ya?

I am not trying to start a arguement, I am sick of seeing someone downgrade Mobil 1.
