Tips on the "leather" repair kits like Permatex?

Tips on the "leather" repair kits like Permatex?

I can't seem to really get this working. There was a nice tear in my arm rest and I tried to do the leather repair on it. and it really came out horrid. lol. What are some good tips you guys do to make you're leather repairs come out well?

I got this kit.

Bring it to an automotive upholstery shop.
$40 bucks and you'll have a brand new cover on it.
A bit more for real leather. Had mine done last year.

what about using that stuff for rips in the seat? same deal? i have the same kit but i havent tried it yet!

With $40 bucks I just rather buy one of those "real leather kits" that sell the boots too in group deals. I need a new shift boot and a ebrake boot already. They are both ripping. I feel like my car is slowly but surly going un-mint inside.

And its always been know to be that older car that looks new inside.

just save up and get real leather boots, and arm rest cover. They will look way better that the factory stuff.

yeah, I have the tan leather interior, and there are some heavy cracks in the seat bottoms of the front seats, a NASTY hole in the driver's side left side bolster, and some cracking onthe arm rest.

I am wanting to find an upholstery shop who could redo them - maybe JUST the panels in the seats that need to be repaired...
