to much money for miles ?
Pricey for miles, but I guess it depends on how well it's been maintained. If it shifts smoothly and fluids were changed regularly...maybe. It might be worth it if the big items were already done -> shocks, LCA/sway bar bushings, tie-rod boots and maybe tie-rods, rear main seal, axles, knock sensor, valve cover gasket, radiator, fuel filter, new tires, etc.
Got love for BK. I got fam out there offa Dekalb Ave.
"losing its edge" by he doesnt know how the previous owner maintained the 2xx,xxx miles on the engine .... you wouldnt buy a engine to put in your car that has that many miles why pay this much for this car with this many miles????
If one owner kept his car running for over 200k miles he's obviously knows what he's doing... If there's no timing chain noise, quiet smooth tranny, new parts here and there, I'd say it's worth it.
Even though miles are high its hard to find these cars in this of a good condition. Trust me I searched after my 5th gen was totaled and found Maximas with 150k for $500 dollars but they were so banged up and/or maintained so lousy they are not worth it. I say $1800 is a fair price for it.
Ask him when he replaced the differential carrier bearings and clutch. It strikes me that the tranny should have started leaking about the mileage he bought the car, or shortly thereafter.
You should be able to find a reasonably priced Maxima with a lot fewer miles than that, although you might not find a 5-speed too easily.
My 95 SE, 5-speed (rebuilt tranny & new clutch last year) has 84,600 mostly highway miles on it and isn't for sale as I am going to be buried in it eventually, lol!

Too high, the market is pretty crap for selling used cars right now, at least here, you can usually pick them up for less than trade value in great shape.
