95 maxima injector swap

Will the 3.5L injectors fit a 3.0 with little mods ?
I think this e85 mix gas they sale here is taking a toll on my car
this is the 3rd injector going bad this year
I have a complete set of 3.5L injectors w/rail

No, not unless you swap over 5th gen intake manifolds. Even then, I don't know if the 3.5 fuel rail will fit.

IIRC 5th/5.5 gen injectors are top feed, and 4th gen are side feed.

excuse my ignorance but why are you putting in e85?

bnrz 10-22-2010 09:26 AM

this is a dumb question but...
wouldnt it run richer?
i would imagine the computer ultimately controls it but would it have any difference?

Just about all you can get around here now is ethanol mix gas

Stickers on the pump say "All Gasoline contain Ethanol"
My poor car runs like $h!t on it and I have been replacing injectors ever since they started doing it.

I don't mind changing to the dek lower intake the top feeds seem to be better and a more popular injector......A bit bigger to boot

But would I have to do a full swap ? upper and lower ?

And according to deatchwerks the 3.5L and DEK injectors are the same
stock size 380cc (compared to my lil ole 270cc)

Ethanol gas is everywhere, people use is every day and it's not why your injectors are failing or why your car is running like $hit.

schmellyfart 11-03-2010 10:51 AM

You are going to run pig rich if you install those injectors and leave it untuned.

+1

Running the e85 mix you loose alot of low end power (from what I can tell)
but that's not why my injectors are going bad then what else could it be?
The car only has 112,254 miles on it (done a carfax to make sure)

Trapstars 11-03-2010 05:00 PM

I believe e85 is a really high octane fuel and not a cheap fuel either. it actually suppose to make your car runs better if used every once in awhile.

Hmm had to google that 1
But you seem right it supposed to have a higher octane rating compared to gas. But yet it takes 15-20 % more of it to make the same power as gas does
So I guess that means go bigger on the injectors and tune it for E85 to get the best results?

I still not sure why I have injects going bad (3 in the last 6 months)
with 112K on the speedo I have always ran prem. 93 octane changed fuel filter every year ........Weird

maxima 21 11-04-2010 08:25 AM

I have ran just about every gas in town and shell gas has givin me the best results by far. I only run shell midgrade or better now. It helped performance and gas mileage.

I fully agree with you on that

That's all I run on all my vehicle's unless I'm really low and have to stop and get a couple of dollars worth of another brand. Mt auto's really don't like this Valero crap popping up all over and buying out other stations around here.

maxima 21 11-08-2010 08:17 AM

So i was in a possition where i couldnt make it to the shell this weekend, wound up gettin 17 mpg on the local chain called wiegles.... I went through a tank this weekend alone. Never agian, Nothing but shell. EVER!

Steve31 11-24-2010 07:44 PM

OK so how would I change the "side"feed injectors to "top" feed ?
DEK Lower intake ? or would I have to swap the upper also ?

Nealoc187 11-24-2010 11:01 PM

DEK (not 3.5) rail, lower intake manifold, AFPR and tuning device if you want it to run as well as stock, and you'd need to splice in new wiring harnesses. you could make the 3.5 rail work but it's a returnless style and the DEK rail is return style (as is the 4th gen, and return style is superior). using the 3.5 rail in a returnless setup would require more changes to your fuel line setup in the engine bay.

ethanol has been used in gas for years (long before E85 came around) and it's not the reason your injectors are failing. they are just failing because they are getting old - it happens.

if you are interested i have two sets of 4th gen injectors, one set is simply removed from a working vehicle that i took to the junk yard because the paint and body were beyond salvaging, and the other set is a newly assembled flow tested and flow matched set from deatschwerks. obviously the latter would be a little more expensive but they're also 0 mile injectors since remanufacturing.

Ok so how much you gonna want for them ?
Stock size ?
Would like to do a custom tune in the near future

SupaDoopa 11-27-2010 12:41 AM

E85? In a Maxima? Uh.

Steve31 11-27-2010 04:45 PM

Correction

It's "E10"
90% Gas and 10% Ethanol
