CV joint broken or something else ?

About 6 months ago I replaced the CV joint and axles with new assemblys. I had to get towed home today when it quit after making a quick start at an intersection. I recall a thunk sound, but sometimes the automatic does make that noise. I will be checking the right side first tomorrow for blown joint. Interesting thing is it will move in park, and when the revs are up the speedometer moves too, so it sure seems like CV joints to me. The guy that worked on it for me is a certified mechanic , works out of his house, but maybe he didn't quite get it right. We shall see how this turns out.

a bad cv joint will usually make a creaking sound as you turn the wheel.

i think you hit it right on the money about it being a cv joint when u check them check to see if one popped out of the tranny when your guy installed them he may not have seated them correctly and ur quick start may have been enough to pop it out
