Are you talking about the ones where the inside is black with a clear lens?

If so, you should be fine with an amber bulb inside. As long as the bulb emits the correct color and its light is unobstructed (IE clear lens) there should be no complaints.

If on the other hand you are talking about lights with black lenses (like my stockers painted with VHT), then no that is not legal.

It all depends on your state and the law enforcer themself. Never had a problem here in FL.

Are they legal? No, the NHTSA or sumfin like that requires forward facing amber reflectors, you delete those reflectors when you replace your stock ones.

Do cops care? No. I live in a very strict part of town, where tinted tails, 8k hids or no front license plate will get you pulled over, only thing I have been stopped for is me not having a front license plate... But I'm reg'd in KS, told the cop to suck it and he had to let me go (Well that's how the stop went in my head anyways...).

PS. the cop did not mention anything about the bumper lights, even though he tried to bother me about the headlights.

In Alabama and most other states, the front bumper/corner lights just have to "emit" an amber light. Meaning the housing can be any color under the sun, as long as when you turn on the lights, they turn amber.

if they are stamped dot and sae approved then they are legal, as you can pass at the dmv with them. as stated above, with the correct bulb color.

As long as you have amber bulbs, I highly doubt the average officer would be able to tell or even notice a difference. I actually had one come up to me, as I was changing from my stocks to my smoked clears, and ask me what I was doing. I told him, and he said they look good, and walked away lol.

Yup, all they care is that the light output is amber.
