Dash Sensor (On Passenger Defrost Grill)

What is it? Anyone need a picture? Go touch the right hand side of it, it is circular and looks like a light sensor... but I have nothing that would use that, I think.

That is the most likely it. It is called the 'sunlight sensor' and compensates for the sunlight radient heating with the temperature setting on the control panel.

It's one of the two sensors that the climate control system uses to monitor the conditions inside your car. The other sensor is to the right of the climate control LCD.

that is, IF you have climate control. a pic would be appreciated as it would keep us from guessing what it is and actually tell you what it is.

Yuppers, it's the sunload sensor in the 98 & 99's with auto climate control.

Nissan has used the sunload sensors for a while. My 3rd gen had one.

Wow,

Thank you very much. I'll post a pic later but I didn't think they used a sunlight sensor in conjunction with the ambient air temperature sensor with the hose in the control console.

Solved! Thank you all!
