I have a 99 GXE and I was trying to fix the left corner light that wouldn't turn on. As I was fixing it, the parking lights (corners, bumper lights (minus the turn signal), foglights, and taillights) all went out. Including the chime went out. Now only the cluster, the climate control lights,and headlights (low beams and high beams) only work. Brake lights working but not the rear parking lights. Any ideas?

 

check fuses in cabin and engine bay

 

Fuses are fine. It's an electrical short.

 

Look for the short near the spot you were working, and then replace the fuse you just blew out.

Everything that's out is on the same fuse. You blew a fues, check them again. The whole circuit does NOT run through that light you were working on. The fuse that protects that circuit is in the pannel inside the car. Use an ohm meter to verify continunity.

 

clearly you dont know how to trouble shoot a short, or probably dont know what one is otherwise you wouldnt be asking...
