2001 Anniversary 5-speed Transmission fit 4th gen?

Hey as the title states I found a 2001 anniversary transmission and was wondering if it is the same fit as my 4th gen. Are they 100% identical, is it just a straight on bolt on no changes etc?

Thanks

Much appreciated. I'm buying this from a junkyard. with a claimed 112,000km's on it. Is there a way to know if I'm being lied too? For all I know it could have 200,000km's

you never really know unless you see it pulled from the car and see the mileage on the dash..even at that you never know because that could have been installed from another vehicle..just hope that it works well

The tranny code will look like R5F50A, or R5F50V, the A or V at the end is what tells you....

V = Locking Diff
A = Open Diff

IIRC all AE's had VLSD... Don't quote me on that, not that up on 5th gens anymore

I know it says that on the passenger side firewall, but does it also have it on the transmission?

//Edit

Just checked mine, not really... that little plate is the VIN number lol, which you can check to see if the car had LSD or not.

well see this is where the issue is. Its coming from a junkyard that would be shipping the transmission. I'll need to know that I got a 2001 transmission. As for lsd I can just see how the axles/tires spin, he's also asking 866 shipped plus tax included. Though he ****ing hung up on me that mother ****er. I swear to god some of them just don't want to get payed...
