elaborate on multimeter and knock sensor diagnose

Hi, can someone elaborate on what you are supposed to do here. I read the posting about it but I'm still confused. I need a dummy's guide book.

I put one end of the volt meter to the negative of the battery and the other end to the knock sensor while still installed on engine. Check for 500 ohms????

Yeah, the knock sensor only has one wire but a it's a two pin sized connector IIRC.

Just replace the damn thing or throw a resistor in it. Both are cheap enough to do.

Best multimeter brand is Fluke.

Depends how much you want to spend.
