basic tune up
NGK vpowers, or if u wanna go platinums u can go for those too. Air filter- just go with purolator or whatever your parts store has if youre not looking for anything "performance" oriented. same with the fuel filter, although many go with the larger z32 filter.
Since the car is old, I would get the cheapest stuff you can find.
Spark Plugs - Autolite
Air Filter -STP (or you can beat it against something to get dirt out and reuse)
Fuel Filter - Any

Actually are those Vpower Plugs any good? Their 3$ Vs. the stock Plugs at 8$
Nissan put NGK's in for a reason i know this.
For instance ive heard of Multiple instances in which Bosch plugs have casued wonderful issues.
Also... There are stipulations on what plugs to use... for instance the Coppers are best for FI since the copper is softer and will burn off if you were to knock Hard.
I realize that we are here to help one another, but you have been able to access this website for almost 8 years and you come on now and ask this type of question, give your head a shake!
As others have said below, stick with NGK plugs. I replaced mine with the OEM laser platinum plugs and couldn't be bothered with the V-power copper plugs.
Get a compatible air filter and fuel filter at your local parts store.
What is the condition is the tranny fluid, power steering fluid and radiator coolant?
When was the last time visual checks were made of belts, hoses, exhaust, steering, CV boots, brakes etc?

Use NGK or use nothing!
There was a thread here a little while back where it was very much proved that using non NGK plugs is just plain wrong, not to mention lead to a _decrease_ in performance!
So, plugs are cheap enough as it is - spend the extra money and save yourself the headache.

Ive always just used the OEM plugs. Mine are around 100K old now though.. Soo I need new ones.

What is the part number you got?
Is the part # you got PFR5G-11? That is the OEM laser platinum plug which runs $12.06 on NGK.com.
I strongly suspect you got the BKR5EGP plug which is the GP platinum plug and runs $3.15 on NGK.com. This is not the OEM laser plug and I doubt it will last anywhere near as long as the OEM plug.
I had my OEM plugs in for 12.5 years and 108,000 kilometres (67,500 miles) and probably could have got more life out of them than I did as my car was running perfectly and the fuel economy hadn't suffered.
I highly doubt it.
And yes thats what it is ive been using the Laser's thank you for te reminder.[/QUOTE]

I have posted a response earlier on with some suggestions. Apart from that, I believe there is a sticky describing what is typically done at 60,000 miles. You should take a look at it. A Haynes manual is also worth the investment and doesn't cost that much.
Or the FSM thats in my Sig!
A32 Tune Up
Thanks again all...this is my first posting, 14 more to go!
Research the stickies. The 60,000 mile tuneup particulars are there. Basically there is no tuneup as such like in the old days when timing needed to be set and distributor caps, points and rotors required replacement.
Spark plugs, fuel filter and PCV valve are about it. The rest is fluids as required: oil, coolant, transmission, power steering. Then there are inspections of exhaust, steering, CV boots, belts, hoses, turn signals, backup lights, brake lights etc.

Thanks for this info. Is there anything else that is required for a basic tune-up? Or could you at least point me in the right direction of the postings I should be looking for? I recently registered to fix up my sister's 1999 Max SE w/187k miles, I've worked w/cars before but never with Nissans, I understand they are particular re: when to use OEM and aftermarket parts.
