Poppin codes like a ****

Shyt.....

Can't belly ache too much as I've had this car for 6 years and nary a problem but alas...my car has begun running like azz.

Spittin and sputtering.....buckin and jumpin'......especially in D at a stop.

pulled the codes today and I got:
6 slows and 5 fast (0605) Cylinder 4 misfire
2 slows and 1 fast (0201) Ignition coil and power transistor
3 slows and 4 fast (0304) Knock sensor

So what do y'all think? Pop a new coil and plug in 4 and slap a new KS in or am I being to simplistic (and hopeful) with my code diagnosis.

The first two are related, sounds like a bad coilpack to me. I'd go ahead and change it, reset the light and see if your knock sensor code comes back. FTR, 0304 (P0325) has always come on, any time that my check engine light came on, and goes away whenever it goes off. I wouldn't be too concerned.

Change the whole pack. Aye. Aaand, Ebay is the preferred place to find our coil packs. Is there a preferred dealer?

while the car is running, unplug cylinder 4 coil pack and see if you have a change in idle. if there is no change, replace it and you should be good to go.

knock sensor can cause the car to run a little rough and effect gas mileage. 35 bucks off ebay and taking some time to figure out how to get that bold back in is all you need to fix that. it could also be triggered by the misfure. save knock sensor for last since it is the least of your probs.

KS wont make the engine run rough. It will back off timing, losing power and mpg.

Replace the coil. 0201 is causing 0605, and 0304 is a ghost code falsely triggered by bad coils (0201) and other legitimate codes.

Have lost a good deal of MPG too so I'm thinking replacing the KS would a fabulous idea come time.

Thanks for you replies gents.

Get one from ebay. Don't worry about quality, they are all the same-get the cheapest you can find ~$20.00. $120+ from Nissan

Stupid question perhaps.....but when in Rome....shall I replace all 6 plugs when I get a new coil popped in. They are NGK Platinums and have about 50 k on em. Most likely still tip top but might as well eh..

Pull em and inspect. Don't replace unless they look suspect.
