Is RTV gasket maker used when replacing the stock UIM gasket?

yes, but you still need a new gasket

run a bead of RTV in the groove for the gasket on the valve cover
place the gasket on top of the rtv (make sure the gasket is seated)
then run a bead on the head where the valve cover mates to it (be sure to run a good bead on the corners as thats where they are prone to leaking)

I simply made a statement how "some are just so anxious to post a comment that they dont read entirely what they are actually replying to" in which you just confirmed doing by saying

Honestly, just in the thread title itself it mentions UIM and RTV gasket maker.
