Hey everybody... So i picked up a 97 SE 5spd that was in a flood, about over a foot high, over the tail pipe, seat bottoms got wet and there was a visible water line around the bottom of the door panels showing just how high the water was. The airbag CPU is covered in mold and discoloration and clearly ruined and the airbag light is flashing. Since the car was never in an accident and all airbags and sensors good, Im assuming replacing the SRS CPU will fix this issue? What I was wondering is what years are compatible with 97? Would 95-97s work? Or would 97 and 98-99s without side airbags work? etc...

 

The 96-98 should work. I know the 95 won't but I'm unsure on the 99.

 

Have you dried it out and tried the reset procedure to see if it clears out?? Miracles do happen as these cars were well engineered by Japan.. If it doesn't work, then Maxima Joe's advice you should follow.

 

the 98 should work to, i think as long as its an early production model 98

 

Here's a place that repairs the module for $49 after it has been in a crash. I don't know if they would take a flood car's module. You'd have to ask them.
