Questions on Swap Help Needed

Debating swapping a VQ35DE and 6 speed manual trans from donor Z in the 4th generation.
Now this will be a conversion from FWD to RWD.
Has anyone done a full swap out of the trans and engine?

If you have to get advice from someone else on this issue, no one on this board will give it... advice that is.
That said, I doubt that anyone will entertain your idea.
Buy a J30 and put some work into the motor.

1. cost to much
2. AFAIK there has been only one member that has converted to RWD and it took alot of work and it still didnt work out. and keep in mind this wasnt a vq he was dropping in.......
3. A fwd vq35 is not much diffrent from a rwd vq35
4. its much more cost effective just to do a full 3.5 swap. vs converting to rwd. Even to just do a hybrid setup is pretty effective.
5. Id drop a z33 vq into a 240 way before a maxi.
6. For the money you could boost the hell out of the 3.0.......

I'm all for originality but just drop a VQ35 in it, supercharge it, and call it a day.
FWD to RWD is too much of a pain in the ***.
Unless u got the time and the money for what ur thinking about doing then go for it.

yea i swapped a fwd vq35. simple stuff. but youre gonna run into some issues with the rwd. im pretty sure you can use the internals and heads of that tho. (at least thats what ive heard) but look on craigslist and ull find a vq35 from like an 05 or something

Yeah if I did a RWD swap I'd go with a V8.

Is the engine in your 350z already built? If not, why not build one of your engines for the Z? Of course you could also sell one and get a FWD 3.5 and put it in the Max....
