opinions? The mileage is high but im thinking that if he can get it to down to around $700 or so he should jump on it.

1995 Nissan Maxima $900 obo
dark green, 217xxxmiles
new brakes, altnator and serpentine belt jus changed
kept oil changed
good running car
Pretty vague description & pics. You or your friend should have it checked out by a mechanic. They are good cars, the mileage is high. Doesn't say if it's auto or manual??

Can't say for sure if it's a good buy or not. Contact the selle for more details. Is the title clean, any CEL's does it smoke, burn oild, etc. The only problem I see off the bat is the high mileage

I've got that many miles and I'd sell mine for 1500 so it's a good price if everything checks out

I think it all depends on the area

when we were looking for ours they range from $1800-$4000 for the 4th gen

$1800 are pretty beat up high mile, there was even one looked like quite a few mods for $3000 with blown head

its all what its worth to the buyer

My opinion, BTW, my first post, (whats up yall) Do some hunting around first. I almost did the same thing w/the mies but, I waited it first out and got lucky, found mine an hour in a half drive away, 51k 1995 Maxima GXE for $4000. 1 owner, an old man getting ready to trade it in for a new Infiniti. Unless your friends on a budget, be patient. Like a few ppl said miles isnt everything and get it checked out. I've owned 6 Hondas before my Maxima, now I wish i switched up a long while ago! I have 63k miles on it now. Never thought I'd say this but hell with a Honda. My boy has a 98 with 270k but a new motor was dropped in it from the previous owner.

Looks like a loaded SE (woodgrain, digital temp. controls, white faced gauges)...if that's the case and it's in good cosmetic and running condition, that would be quite the steal around here! If they're kept up, mileage isn't a huge concern on them...mine just hit 222K and still going strong.

the question is, can you or your friend do any wrenching? not sure why that galant is priced 1k more either. definitely get the car checked. pay attention to any noises (Esp. suspsension). see how the trans shifts (check the color/level if it's an auto), how does the oil look, etc, etc.

these cars run for ever you would have to look at the car and set a check list of things to look for in the vechile my brother and i both have maximas (well mines an i30 same thing) but we looked at prolly 40 - 50 cars before finding the two we liked .. with that highmileage its hard to believe someone is selling it without something wrong with it i think most people would drive it into the ground ... i would go check the car see how it starts if it smokes .. before starting it check the radi cap it if the coolant is muck brown could me oil mixing the cap would have a film on it ... next thing is the inside of the oil fill cap that would also have a white film or foamy substance in it these both point to leaking head gasket. the other thing you wanna look at is the left side of the engine compartment where the water pump is see if theres any oil seepage there indicating that the o rings behind the pump are bad and should be replaced .... theres alot more to check for as well ... it depends what your freind is looking for some of these could be ignored and the car driven for a while others more important i love maximas so my opinion is somewhat biased but it couldnt hurt to look at the car. good luck bud

It seems like a good deal, but the ad doesn't give enough detail about the car just call and ask more information about it and go from there.
