New Suspention/steering parts but hearing front end noise?

I just had my inner/out tie rods done, ball joints, control arms and the sway bar links also for both sides.

When I come from a complete spot after pressing the breaks. I hear clunk kinda like what metal sounds like if you hit it on rubber. I had this happen on my last car when I used the E-break. It seems to be happening less and less the more I drive. Since the sus work and alignment I have driven about 15 miles.

Any ideas? Tnx

Both Control arms are brand new. Are you saying they were not installed right?

The sounds is best described as taking a big metal rod and hitting it on rubber... a clunk type of sound.

Maybe the installer didn't put the right bolts back in the right spots for the control arms.

Tightening the LCAs while the wheels are hanging will cause them to be loose. Bring it back to your mechanic and have him inspect it.

Not so much a creak but a clunk type of sound. My 91 had would make this same sound when I used the parking break on hilly areas. This car came from Boston where I was leaving and I drove it to Houston where I am now. I think that when was changing parts he "disturbed" the mechanical welds and rest so now I'm hearing what I think is something just need to be greased. My car also has what appears to be the orginal rotors and when he tooks stuff aloose they make a bit of noise now, telling me they need some of that brake spray stuff.

Well, the car was on a jack. This was done in the back yard not a shop. He put the sway bar end links on while the wheels where on. He did this because I had to pick up a pair from auto zone. I will take it back just in case.

Tnx

Also I met CMAX03 last night and when I was driving around with him the noise did not re-appear. It has went away as I have started driving the car since my repairs.

You may be on to something. I know the driver side front is leaking. Just don't see how it could make that sound.

For anybody that's wondering. It is the shocks/struts. The 4k mile move from East Coast to West coast was too much. They are on there last leg now. Looking for a CO member that wants to make some cash and install them.

you could buy monroe quick struts and install them yourself. quick struts come with the entire strut assembly, including new dust boots, mounts and everything else pre assembled. they're 140 a piece on rockauto or amazon. they aren't a performance strut but if you just want a replacement they're great (this is something really managable for ANYONE as long as you have access to a 17mm socket and 19mm deep socket. you'll also need a 14mm socket and a bit of lube to help along the way)

other struts cost 75+ and with new dust boots and mounts that pretty much match the price of quick struts

Funny you say this. I was going to replace all the strut/coil spring parts. It was cheaper to buy the quick struts rather than buy all the parts separately. The difference was about 100$ 65$ savings if you factor in the cost of shipping.

That's what I ended up doing. Just waiting for them to come in the mail. Not sure if I want to install them myself or not. I have tools.
