Heat A/C blower problems

1997 Nissan Maxima SE. w/ manual heat and a/c controls (not digital)

Both the heat and A/C work great but I do have a blower problem. It has off, 1,2, 3 and 4 settings. Off and 4 work as they should. 1, 2, and 3 all do the exact same thing... which is turn on the heat or a/c but do not blow at all.

This just started yesterday and is already annoying. I have to crank it on full which is very loud and cold then need to turn it off until I get hot again.

Anyone else have this problem and find a solution?

Thanks for any help!!!!

You need to change the blower resistor pack.

Thank you very much!!! That is why this site is the best.

One quick question...how hard is this to change out and where is it located?

It's pretty easy - 2 phillips head screws. Look in the passenger side footwell, above where your right foot would rest. You'll see the blower motor and a little bit towards the front of the car will be the resistor, maybe 3 inches long and a half inch wide. It has an electrical connector plugged into it with 4 wires.
