well im thinking about just getting the muffler for sounds and looks. not really into performance. so im planni on getting APEXi universal dunk muffler. and wondering how the sounds are. cause i know that APEXi WS catback is really quite... but i don't want it to be too quite. so do any of you know how APEXi dunk universal muffler sound like?

It's really quiet. No sound at all. I think you need to take off the resonator for it to sound loud. Looks good though. Got it for cheap!!

no way Tae....you know ferhan? (they guy with the S/Ced GXE at the meet)...he has that muffler...and his is LOUD AS $HIT! fricken rattles the whole rear of the car....

That muffler is a straight through design....so it's gonna be louder no matter what.

 

Nope nothing else on my car. Someone else has it on the board. He said it's really loud if you take off the resonator. Do a search. I got it for $175 shipped.

 

He must have a y pipe or took off his resonator or did something. All I did was weld it on and no noise at all.. unless I have a silencer on it and I don't know..

 

are you sure brian? which guy? hmmmm you talkin about the guy who broght his son? hmmm are you sure its gonna be loud? do you have to do something to make it loud? cause other guy said it's not loud at all. hmmmmm im confused~!~!~!~

and brian did you have BOSE system? or regular?
where did you get the gauges and gauge pod? how much?
if you did have bose system how did you install that amp and sub?

has one with the resonator taken out..that thing is DAMN loud!!!! But he also has a y-pipe and a b-pipe. The reason it is a loud is due to the fact that it is for turbo cars.

 

its pretty loud cause of the design (straight through). before i had my y-pipe i just had an intake and the dunk with resanator cut out. then it sounded good, once i put the y-pipe in it got REALLY REALLY loud.

 

what about highway drone?? do you get that with just the universal muffler welded on? I plan to add a Y-pipe later along with CAI but since there isnt that much of a gain from the exhaust I just want sound and looks with the univ muffler. Is the muffler (any straight thru muffler) going to have a droning sound by itself?? what about with Y and CAI?
Tae, in my opinion if the drone is there then its not worth it. Sure u'll like it for the first couple of months but after that its just goin to pi$$ u off.

 

how come no one listen to me.... ..if you don't take off the resonator expect no sound at all...zip...zippo.... I have it on and it sound like my stock...I can slam on the gas and still won't hear a thing...If you take off the resonator, then it will be loud...

 

wut do you meam by takeing off the resonator? can you be more specific? which part are you talking about? is it easy to take off?

with just a universal welded on and factory everthing else your car should be very quiet.

any universal muffler will a little drone to it. it depends on the muffler it self. some unis are quieter than others. all are louder than stock.
what about with Y and CAI?

CAI really opens up the sound on the intake side of things rather than the exhaust. a y-pipe + muffler will make your car significantly louder.
