Lowered, finally... PICS

It's been almost 2 years, but I finally lowered my Maxima. I'm using the stock shocks and struts for now until I can afford some KYBs.

I'm very happy with the results and the ride really isn't that bad. It was pretty frustrating putting on the rear springs, though and the whole job took about 30 extra minutes because I had to re-tap the rear struts and the nuts that threaded into them. Freakin 16 year old parts.

But anyways, hears the before and after shot of the stance.

AFTER:

Tomorrow, I get to do an alignment... yay

Forgot to mention they are option racing brand. According to seller, it's a 2 inch drop in the rear, 2.2 inches in the front.

I meant the brand is "Option Racing" not "Option Racing Brand"

I've never heard of them and I don't know how much they are new. I got em used from somebody in the classifieds for $75, can't beat that.

I'm really happy with the way it sits right now except for in the rear. I think I might have put the struts together wrong...

I can also hear a pretty gnarly "clunk" in the right rear. Im going to work early just to check that out. Kinda rushed the job yesterday.

Thanks.

So I got the rear shocks on and the ride is waaaaay smoother. It seriously feels better than it did at stock height and the clunking is gone, too. The factory rear shocks were done for, I'm sure they have been since Ive owned the car. The front struts are fine, so I'm not touching those until they're shot. No point in changing something out if it's still good.

It looks a lot better now,
its funny how 4th gens stock height is like the "4x4" height of cars and when they're lowered they look better but looks like stock height for other cars lol...

Lol @ the shopvac. yes, it is at the dealership i work at.

OK, I take back what I said in post 21.
With the combination of the springs and my new rear shocks, the ride feels almost as good as it did before the drop up until about 60 mph. On the streets it feels about the same. I took it on the freeway for the first time and it wasn't nearly as smooth as before but it wasn't that uncomfortable. My wife drives a completely stock 2004 Altima and my Maxima is still smoother after putting those springs on.
