check engine light after mevi install...
hey everyone, please disregaurd my previous threads i finally got the mevi working properly...but on my stock manifold there where 2 threaded studs near the iac valve that help what i believe to be an evap purge flow sensor...the mevi does not have those stops so the sensor/ mechanism is just laying there and there is no where for the hose to connect too...has anyone else had this problem? can i just plug that hose or do i have to tap into another source with a t-piece????? im now throwing a check engine light for a P1447 code whch is EVAP Control System Purge Flow Monitoring. please help me out. thanks

I bet you put the vacuum line in it's place on the MEVI. You need to connect the EVAP mechanism to that place, and tee in the vacuum line into something else. If I was at home, I'd snap a pic and show you what I did.

It's normal for the EVAP mechanism to not have a place to mount to. But, you do have to hook up all the hoses. The hose you're talking about coming off the EVAP mechanism is rather larger, and the connection on the MEVI is rather small, so you'll need an vacuum hose adapter from Autozone or the like so you can convert the big hose into a smaller hose and hook it back up. No, you can't just plug it. LOL

Here's some pics on my 98 Max
BEFORE photoshop: Here, I pulled out the hose so the reducer can be seen. Normally it's hidden from view.
After Photoshop: With the EVAP hose highlighted in red
Closeup of reducer
How it looks when I have everything the way I want it (no reducer in sight)
Sexy MEVI time

Also, just for reference purposes, the OEM 1998 Intake Manifold has a vacuum connection as shown in red, where the MEVI doesn't have this. Feel free to connect to any vacuum source after the TB. I tied the vacuum line into another vacuum line under the TB and to the right towards the IACV using a vacuum "T" (sold at Autozone etc)
The IM on my 99 CA Spec Max does not have this vacuum port (as shown in red), so I didn't have to worry about it.
