What is comperable performance wise to a 1998 Maxima?

See I come from owning a 300ZX and I'm wondering what performance bracket the Maxima is in. Something similar to 300ZX vs Supra, what would the Maxima be compared to?

Thanks.

Well if your 300zx was a non turbo, then the Maxima is gonna be faster. If you were twin-turbo'ed, then

Impala SS? That is not comparable to us at all. Except maybe that it is a car.

Dont forget 97-01 5 speed v6 Camrys, especially the CE models which weigh almost the same as the base model Maximas. You guys seem to forget about Camrys for some reason. Of course the new Max's blow the new Camrys out of the water. But until the 5th gen's were released they were always neck and neck.

Your right its not comparable. I would never compare a RWD v8 to a FWD v6. Although ive beaten a few impalas in my car (auto v8 to 5 speed v6 and i didnt toast em), ive also seen one run 11's all motor with slicks. The LT1 has way more potential than any of our engines even though its not as "technologically advanced" as a lot of import owners suggest. Even though its a cheaper feeling car and less reliable, the question was for performance and i think the Impala takes any FWD car just for the fact that its RWD with a V8

That charts good for ****s n giggles. You cant do any real comparisons with magazine times unless every car was ran at the same track numerous times by the same driver in the same weather conditions.

ohhhhh if you have an auto max you can forget the Buick Park Avenue Ultras, ummmm you'll get smoked by a Buick Roadmaster (MT tested a '95 at 0-60 in 6.7)
'95 Cadillac Fleetwoods with the LT1s may give you a run for your money... you'll get smoked by Devilles... Concours or not... Sevilles will roast you
the new Escalade will hang with you atleast watch out for the Chevy Silverado RWD pickups with the 5.3L

happy hunting!

Exactly, remember, I said "a general idea", not "gospel proof from the Automotive Gods of track times".

Also, remember Ryan asked "What is comperable performance wise to a 1998 Maxima?"

Anyone ever raced an Impala SS?

Ever driven an Impala SS though? I took one on a "test drive" one day and beat the bag out of it. Man that thing was fun.

The SS? The SS looks nothing like the 4th gen max. I think you may be thinking of the newer 99 and up Impala's. Those are useless.

It is just because I loved the Imapala SS so much then felt like the destroyed the performance and legacy of it.

Glok when you gonna get a TRD S/C like that guy that kicked my *** awhile back? Then an LS1 Lumina SS would be child's play for you...
