Need replacement seat for '99 leather - what years?
I need to replace a black leather seat in a '99 Max SE, power, with heat. The leather is torn and a junkyeard replacement seems like the best route (although if repair is a reasonable option, do tell).
What years are an exact match? Are all the 4th Gen's the same if they have black leather? Was heat and/or power an option with leather, or is that always included?
Thanks,

Any 4th gen black leather seat will physically fit in your '99. And, from what I can tell, all 4th gen black seats are the same in "blackness". I have a '96 and '99, both with black leather. As for texture, my two cars are a little different but that's probably just the variableness of leather. As for your heated seat option - no, not all Maximas have heated seats. In fact, most do not. All factory leather seats are power though, just not heated necessarily. Also, you didn't mention this but I suspect your '99 has side airbags in the seats. That is extremely rare. If you want to replace your seats exactly in kind, you'll have to find '99 (maybe '98?) black leather, heated seats with side airbags. That will be hard. Note that '99 SE-L's have perforation and no side airbags. I'd check with an upholstery shop to see what they can do with your current seats. Good luck.

OK... I have heated, perforated, side airbag seats.
Since I really only have a problem with the leather on the lower section (the part you sit on), could I swap the lower section with any black, heated, perforated seat? Or is there something in the lower section (wiring perhaps) that is different when the airbags are installed?

Non heated, no side srs, perf leather
FYI, I don't know what years exactly, but I30s have perf leather.... Not sure if they had black perf leather though.
Just another route to search for the base you want.

With modification the 5th gen seats front and rear fit in 4th gens I have put 2 sets of 5th gen seats in 95-99 cars. The back you take two tabs off the car and the front you'll need to have a welded and a great drill with a metal bit.
