woke up this morning and discovered someone tried to steal my car

i got in the house at 315 this morning after coming from walmart with my girl. at 730 this morning the neighbor knocks and say that my back passenger window was broken. When i go to the car i see that the window is broken and the plastic around the steering column is broken. The a$$holes that did it even tried to get into the car through the sunroof which i left vented. They broke their wrench trying to pry open the sunroof. I was able to repair the housing around the ignition and i got the window replaced today also. The only thing the a$$holes made off with was my ipod touch. Still pissed about that but better that than the car. Why cant these douchbags leave peoples stuff alone.. i know we all work hard to do what we do to our cars, and for some loser to come along and try and take em is infuriating. Just felt like venting!!!

At least you still have your Max. Next time don't leave anything in the car no matter how small. Those ipod touch's aren't cheap.

damn son that sucks.

gotta get that alarm installed. Especially if u live in the city and the type to put nice stuff in your car.

I remember the first time those bastards ran up in my car. Took all my shyt, even my old pair of sneakers! I got the alarm installed and changed all the key cylinders. No problems since man.

Its funny tho...whenever i go into Boston, u can walk down a main street and everyone has an alarm installed.

the only real damage was to the window that they broke. and i dont really see a point in reporting that to them. it was only 100 to fix. the plastic housing around the ignition pops out so i just put it back into place.

At my house I have a driveway but this happened at my girls house where I have to park on the street. The crazy thing is I'm here all the time and she lives in a very nice area. So I never worried about my car. But now I have to be more careful. Alarm is goin in this weekend!!!!

Smart move.

Beyond your typical car alarm features, here are some additional security options I have on my Max's that you might consider:

1. tilt sensor
2. DEI SmartStart (assuming you have a Smartphone). Any alerts will be texted to your phone. (Takes a few minutes though to reach your phone..) And you get to remote start/lock/unlock etc your car from your phone anywhere in the US.

Not only do they have the ***** to try to break in, but then when they can't they just break a window? That's ****ed up... Bet those guys are lucky you didn't catch them doing it. I would have been pissed

I will def be doin those wizard
And they are lucky I didn't catch them because I'm a registered gun owner and I spend a good amount of time at the range. So yea I would have shot the **** out of them them called the police.
And as far as leaving stuff visible... 1. I have 5 percent tint on my car so at night you can't see in there at all with out a flashlight. 2. We should all be able to leave whatever the hell we want in out cars an it be safe.. Why the f@$k can't these lowlifes get jobs and work for stuff the same way that we do. We have to turn our property into fort Knox so that when we come back to it it's still there!!!

Sorry to hear that man, but glad they didn't get your car. Same thing happened to me in college but I had a car alarm. They broke in during a really stormy night when everyone's car alarm was going off from the thunder anyway. I guess you can never disregard it as a false alarm without checking it out.

That really sucks. My old car was broken into before. Jacked my W7 sub and 500/1 amp. And other small stuff. I think they are everywhere, good or bad neighborhoods. Just be glad your car is still there :-)

I hear that. See the issue is my girls room is on the third floor and depending where I park on the street I can't always see the car. But at my house there's no issue and at the drop of a hat it can be game time

Sorry about what happened! Glad you still got the car!

I got a Viper 5902 +tilt sensor +glass sensor +proximity sensor +backup battery
and soon ill be grabbing a gps device with an emergency on demand scan feature ..

The 5902 is nice, car alarm goes off the so does the key fob! & works up too a mile away! So if youre in a restaurant or cant see the car like at your girls house...

Worth it if you ask me .. I got a few cars besides the maximas so i got motion sensors and cameras for the cars in the driveway. Its nice to be able too lOOk when you here a noise, or even if youre not home.. my cameras can be viewed over my HTC EVO or i can just look at my house from my laptop or tablet from anywhere i got a 3g/4g/wifi signal. Luckily i work from home so im usually here..

Really if someone wants your car they will find a way... but im going out of my way to make it a pain in the **** to grab my car including leaving a couple thumb tacks right side up on the drivers seat when im not gonna drive it for a bit!

glad to hear we all love our maximas. mine came with the stock alarm and it never goes off. i think people know it has one, plus everyone knows i got a bumpin set up, maybe my street cred keeps my car safe. either way, get the alarm and do like nhmax, pack a pistol and park it in plain sight. i keep my max in eyes shot all the time. i even take 2 parking spaces, and im bone stock.

does your Maxima not have a factory alarm, I know it's basic but mine went off when my my sunroof glass was broken... (could've been a fluke) but still.

G;ad your okay and you still have a car to look out for.

this.

Alarms are only deterrents. A person with enough determination and time can defeat any alarm. A GPS device will help you find your car in a worst case scenario.

My boy has the viper that sends alerts to the key fob. Its real nice man. I wish i had known about it when i got my alarm installed. I def would have spent the extra bucks for that.
