I replaced one side of the suspension and steering components(inner, outer tie rods, end links struts and control arms on my 98 max.I had a big problem when the axle separated at the inner joint when when I pulled it through the hub.I think the hub dropped too far down and separated the axle at the inner joint. I still have to to do the other side.Is there a trick to get the axle out of the hub with out damaging the cv boot so this doesn't happen on the other side.Originally I disconnected the outer tie rod and the strut to get the axle out but the spindle dropped down and separated the inner joint on the axle.I left the brake caliper connected. Can I bend the axle to the side alot to get it free from the hub or were my steps wrong? Thanks, any help is appreciated.I still have one side to do.Also, there is no jam nut for the outer tie rod.It looks like it is all one piece and the outer tie rod was seized to the inner.Any help in removing the outer tie rod to the inner is appreciated

You can heat up the outer tie rod close to the jam nut to get it free if wrench power alone doesnt work. You shouldn't pull on the axle to take it out of the tranny. Use a prybar to pop it out of the tranny with a quick popping motion instead of a constant force. I take my axles out with just the strut disconected, yes you can bend the outer joint to pop it out (just be carefull when you pull it out of the knuckle not to damage the bearing seal.
