Look what I bought over the weekend!!!

I bought a 1997 Black Maxima SE 5-speed

As some of you may or may not know, I suffer from "Autotitus". Which means I get bored of my cars quick-like and end up selling it and buying another. I am getting help for this ya know.

Well my last maxima was an 2002 grey-lustre auto which I gave to my son. Early this year I sold it to a friend and bought my son a 2002 Altima SL.

As for me, this past weekend I bought myself a 1997 max to use as a commuter /fun car.

Pics are posted in my Album:

thanks......

I think if my just recently purchased 97' Maxima SE had a sister it would be your car. Our cars are almost identical. You even have the tear on the armrest like mine

Looks like a great buy. How many miles?

LIMaxima & maxxxdout = thanks fellas

VQ'rInWLA & Haishun Boi Max = I am only planning on getting a tint done cause it is so hot here in Texas. I don't really feel the A/C with them naked windows. I always liked this body style especially the rims. I am probably going to leave it stock.

infinimax96 = Hey now, why does my car have to be the female? After all yours is the one with the purse. lol
I actually was looking for a white with Black leather interior like yours. Great find there...

btw I have 218K miles, but the car still pulls nicely

It doesn't have to be female I suppose. You wouldn't catch me driving around in anything that wasn't female. If I'm gonna ride in it, it's gonna be a woman. A lot of my buddies are quite jelly of my white on black. I've wanted a pearl white SE for a couple years now. It looks like we both got amazing buys though. I hate Tan leather but I'd still buy one as nice as yours.

just foolin about the female thing, in fact all my Maxima's I have named "Maxine" by default. Glad you picked up the exact colors you wanted. I think people appreciate more of something they have if it was something they really wanted. Like I said that white/black was my first choice but Black/tan was a very close second. I can see why your friends are going gaga over your car. She is super clean!!!!!

I completely agree. This car is going to be treated better then it probably ever had hoped for on the assembly line. After much Debate I named the Max Sonia. My I30 is named Sophie so I thought they'd go good together.

These cars with a 5speed are thrilling to drive. I honestly had never driven a VQ with a clutch before. I've driven my mother's 04' G35 with the slap shot auto but it still felt to much like the auto. A VQ with an Auto almost feels like power isn't getting all the way to the ground. Like the tranny is holding it back. Driving the 5speed completely opened my eyes to the full potential to these engines. I felt like a 16year old boy driving for the first time again. Lol

although... I've been stuck driving my Auto I30 for the past 2 years. Maybe I just forgot how fun a clutch can be.

yo Mtones that blue is very nice, I was also considering that color if I would ever find one. Is that a rare color? Don't see to many around.

That is pretty Crazy... but is it such a bad thing? lols. I'm glad that I'm so new to the forum, yet I seem to have a lot in common with the big dogs on here. Either way, I think it's awesome that we even name our cars/electric devices similar names

....Nothing is sexier then an Italian voiced Nav/GPS...

Looks dope. Black and tan is the best color combo for these cars. TBH if mine was in those colors I'd probably not have bought another car.

That's what mine's on for. It's a 95 so it doesn't have to pass emissions in MA anyway. I pulled the CEL bulb. I figure I can check codes with the scanner and I might figure it out eventually, but for now I'd rather not have the orange light in the corner all the time.

My scangauge is currently connected to it so I cleared the code but it immediately came back on. If I move the seat back just right, the steering wheel blocks the CEL dash light...

hey man, how do you like it. ive seen it on CL for awhile now in garland area from the dealership. i was actually gonna buy it and used my current as a parts car. but seriously, how does it run?

any plans for it? you should hit up the meets around the area.

Yeah, it was on craiggers for a while but their asking price of $3300 was way out of my league. Good thing they lowered their advertised price and I jumped on it. I really like the way it runs, it is smooth, quite, and still a strong runner.

Yeah I definitely want to attend the meets just let me know...

I'm sure I'll get all the help I'll need on here. I have a huge list of plans for my new purchased baby. I just need the funds to get rolling . Mine is also throwing a code for the ignition coils but they've all been replaced and it's still throwing the code even after reset. These cars and their CEL problems. My I30 will sometimes randomly throw a CEL one day and the next it'll be fine.

Thanks! Only other person with my color I've ever seen is Brian ( Max_ride41).
I thought it was a custom paint job when I got it. But found out it was factory. I got it with 130k. Fully loaded with Bose, power leather, sunroof, ACC for 3,200 about 2.5 years ago.
