I'M PO'd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

long story short, some BS went down at my house last night. Someone went to jail. Today I went to get something to eat, and came home to this

When I left my house, I had just got done cleaning under my hood right by that side. It was NOT like that when I left. Got home to this

Depends on your coverage for State Farm. My policy isn't that way...

Sucks though for sure - I had to replace one on my Jeep this summer under questionable circumstances.

Also, how would the hood hit it? The corner of the hood is at least 2-3" from right there and there is no visible traces of paint and the corner of the hood is not scratched

EDIT: also found a ratchet on the ground. Not one of my ratchets either, the bass of the ratchet handle is about the same size as the center of the start of the "spider"

it LOOKS like the hood hit it. but how would it? unless your hinges got ****ed up it shouldnt open enough to hit it. and if you open it again it should hit again.

I opened earlier, it did NOT touch the window or get remotely close

Whatever you say dude.

Seriously though, that was my initial thought just looking at the pic. I can't see everything you can and I'm sure you see it for what it is. If you don't have glass in your insurance, hopefully homeowners or renters insurance might help you.

something was between the hood and the windsheild when you/somebody opened it that is definitely what happened.

homeowners insurance has a $500 deductible. Not worth it at all. I will take better pics with my T2i tomorrow

Nobody has keys to my car but me, its always locked. There were no tools under the hood anywhere when I noticed the shatter.

The person who I believe did it, has shattered windows in cars multiple times.

Your windshield is necessary, the other thing isn't as necessary. There's always cheaper options.

OEM or aftermarket windshield?

I'll have to look to see if I find a good looking Mustang retro. If not, just get some new housings for her.

Thats the plan Stan.

Not sure if OE or aftermarket. Safelite is putting it in. They said $331, another company in Nashville said $600+

the only good thing about living in your hometown is that you know ppl that work in alot of different places, i have a guy at autozone, the dealership, a bodyshop owner, a machine shop, and a good friend owns a glass shop here in town i paid 79 bucks for a new windshield installed lol. best of all a buddy of mine works at a customizing shop that carries hks and greddy turbos and i can get his 75% discount. sux that it happened, looks like maybe someone tried to pry the hood up and busted the glass, once that happened they got freaked out and bolted.

Dam that messed up. If it ain't a hood accident, you got a hater around your way. Keep your eyes and ear open. People talk, words spears like fire. When you find out who, make em pay.

Wow, your getting robbed. Ive had mutliple windsheilds replaced and they were all around 125.00 installed. They even came to me to do it. Our cars are so old, and the glass is pretty common for them to get it whouldnt be that expensive. Many glass compaines will try and feed you a line about chea pchina glass etc. but if you look at the windsheild they have the brands on them and most of them come from the same manufactures. I have a friend who works in the glass business and hes told me all the BS that companies try and pull. I even called around to compare his prices and he was on point with what others were charging.
A few years back then wind really picked up and flipped my hood back at a show cracking it in the exact same spot as yours. right in that corner and the point of contact is just below the corner of the hood.
