My ever growing love for the Maxima
My ever growing love for the Maxima
So today, I was driving to my school in Baltimore, when I witnessed a multi-car accident happen. My friend was in it, but regardless, I would have stopped and pulled over to help out and/or direct traffic. The weather was cloudy with drizzling rain. It went something like this:
Hey! I see friends car! I'm going to go follow friend to parking lot and walk in together!
Huh...? Crunch noise? WTF ACCIDENT!
By then, most cars had slowed down or stopped completely to rubber neck (is that the term?) and hope everyone is alright.
I was about 5 cars behind everything, so I went ahead and pulled up right behind the last car, which also happened to be my friends car, and used my car to block two right lanes of traffic so that no one would try to be an idiot and go through the accident, which someone did anyways...
After that, I called the police as I was checking up on friend.
How did I block two lanes of traffic? Well, I've seen lots of accidents and also had a First Responder Class where they taught us to park the vehicle diagonally so that the vehicle would be more visible and have a wider profile to block with. So I did exactly that, park my car diagonally and turn the steering wheel to the left a bit and then proceed to get out of car and help friend.
Friend's mom came and I stayed as long as I could before I left things in her hands as I had an exam to rush to that morning.
Long story short, I loved how my Maxima looked this morning while it was used to provide protection and cover for those that were in the accident. I'm glad the car I drive, is a 4th Gen Icelandic Pearl Maxima.
What awesomeness have you done with your car lately?
Here is where it happened:

I was blocking the two right lanes:

So just imagine a Maxima parked diagonally across those two lanes, as I didn't get a chance to take a picture of my car before police arrived.
Other thoughts:
I should have bought some safety triangles or flares... It was just my car and I routing traffic around the accident.
I neglected to go and check on everyone else, but I did survey the scene and no one was badly hurt, bleeding, or unconscious... But still, I should have walked over and checked up on them and asked that they remain calm, turn off their engines and put the car into park and, do not move incase they have any invisible injuries. I still feel stupid for not doing that.
This thread is not really related to Maxima discussion, so I guess it's fine if it's locked.

Iv seen lots of people not even pull over fore an emergency vehicle or stop at a school buses stop lights. I want to crash and be saved by good people like you.
too many people are lost due to others being selfish, and its not right. But you did the right thing and I'm happy no dumb****s drove into your car.

Lolol max-r95 nice try. But back on topic. Akiyukio good job on helping how you could, its true how barely any people will help these days. I got my Integra totalled two weeks ago by a truck that ran a red light. Not one person stopped to check anything or even provide a witness report.
Glad to see theres some people willing to help!!
